Re: Level Up

I got my copy of Level Up last week in the mail and I have to say it's really great. So much useful information for either a DM or a player. The articles were well written and it was hard to put down. Great job! I can't wait to see what your next issue has. L Thanks. Glad you're enjoying the magazi...

Re: Nice work!

I just picked up Critter Cache 3 and 4. Wow! I love them both. I am very intrigued by the idea of the Seelie and Unseelie Courts, will there be any more information on this? Like perhaps writeups on Queen Titania, Oberon, Morgause, and Mordred? Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed them. I'll defintely be s...

Re: Nice work!

I'd like to see similar books for all the races, but especially tieflings, gnomes (4e's non-tinker gnome, that is), half-orcs, and devas. No problem. Hero's Handbook: Tieflings in the final editing stage, and I'll be writing Hero’s Handbook: Half-Orc starting in the next week or so. Gnomes are defi...

Re: Nice work!

Just wanted to say nice work on both Hero's Handbook: Dragonborn and Dungeon Denizens . I ordered copies as a birthday present to myself and received them yesterday. After a cursory read both seem to be really interesting books, and I'm looking forward to digging in more thoroughly. Good work, guys...

Re: Coming Soon! Even More Critters for Your 4E Game.

I want to add that Big Bugs restored my faith in 4E, gave me great inspiration and basically brought me back to the game. Love this series. Keep it up! %) I'm glad that Critter Cache has helped make your 4E experience better. It's comments like yours that lead me to believe that I do, occasionally,...

Re: Blackdirge Barnes & Noble Book Signing

How did the signing go? Is there a lot of interest in D&D at B&N CA. I live in Lakeland FL and the D&D section at our B&N is very neglected. Everything is smashed and stuffed onto a single shelf. Minis books dice etc. all jammed tightly together with bent pages and dented boxes. It ...

Blackdirge Barnes & Noble Book Signing

Hi all, I’ll be signing copies of Blackdirge’s Dungeon Denizens, plus some other Goodman Games products I’ve authored or co-authored, at my local Barnes & Noble this Saturday (Feb 21st) from 11 AM to 3 PM. The Barnes & Noble where I’ll be signing is located at the following address: Barnes &...

Re: Blackdirge's Dungeon Denizens Now Available in PDF!

I want to buy the hardcover for this book but I was noticing that the page count is different on some sites. It is listed as 128 rather than the 144 listed here. So my question is what is the ISBN of the hardcover book? The book is 144 pages (or at least the one sitting here in front of me is :D). ...

Re: Level Up

One burning question I have: Will there be a way for freelancers to query Level Up! Thanks! Absolutely. Here's how you submit. On the 13th day of the 13th month, when the moon hangs high and red in the night sky, a query written in the blood of one hundred kittens may be submitted to the great and ...

Re: Open Call for 4E GSL "Book of Rituals"

* The submission must follow the format and style of the example ritual. For fonts, use Times or Arial, in a 10- or 12-point font size, as demonstrated in the example. Just to be clear, when you refer to "the example," are you referring to the format outlined in the PHB? Yes. And as dulsi...

Re: Level Up

Hi all, To start, I'll post a snippet from my editorial in issue one. I think it sums up what Level Up is all about: Welcome to the first issue of Level Up, a quarterly magazine devoted to Fourth Edition Dungeons & Dragons. That’s right; you read that correctly. I said devoted – as in solely com...

Re: Critter Cache: Animals & Beasts released!

Hi Blackdirge, I have bought all your Critter Caches, they are awesome! I think they fill an important gap in the 4th edition monsters: real world creatures. Just so you know, what I love about them is: - the way you use 4th edition mechanics to create interesting powers. - the art, it has an old s...

I went to my local flgs and they said they had sold out of the copies they had, so I came back a week later and I was told that the store owner placed the book on "special order only" status, meaning they will not keep the book on the shelf but only order it if it is requested. This kind ...

Oh, come on, Adrian; you're just pissed because we didn't go with your idea - Hero's Handbook: Smurfs.

If you would have budged on the full-color Smurfette centerfold, the project would have been a go.

Hi Fat Action Figure, Don’t worry, you’re not alone; I’m a 4E designer, and I can’t even make sense of the inconsistencies in the Monster Manual half the time. :D As you have certainly learned, monsters stats aren’t as straightforward in 4E as they were in 3.5E. There’s more wiggle room – artistic l...
