Re: Do you have go-to voices for your NPCs?

Sure! I do voices, and even some body language, specially for old characters, crazy or villains if they are doing an speech, or a tete-a-tete chat with one of the players. It's a great way to create empathic feedback in the players, for instance when interacting with a disgusting NPC they hate despi...

Newbie question about the Read Magic Spell

How the Read Magic spell works? to be more precise, when he Read Magic spell should be applied? I know it may look like a silly question, but I'm having some doubts about how to fit this spell in the game system. It looks like DCC magic writings not always require a Read Magic casting to be understo...

Re: What Campagin Settings Do You Use for DCC?

I haven't mine yet, but I'm seriously thinking to adapt some Pelgrane Press supplements for Dying Earth rpg, to be more precise the books "The Kaiin Player's Guide" and "The Scaum Valley Gazeteer" both books are 90% generic background information.
Anyone tried already to use these?

Re: questions before first game

well, finally we played and we had a great time. I will spare you a long post of basic English try to tell you what happened, but there are several points i would like to mention: -finally no magic items experiments, we played the scenario as it is in the book. -50% of loses ( 8 survivors from 16) -...

Re: What to read next?

IMHO list to follow is: 1. Jack Vance (Dying earth series is a must, Lyonesse books are great too) 2. Roger Zelazny (Dilvish or Amber series) Next: Howard, Lord Dunsany, & Moorcock. And as a personal opinion, I find interesting "Magic Kingdom for sale" from Terry Brooks and "The P...

Re: questions before first game

Thanks a lot for that pile of sensible advices! Most of my questions don't aim to change rules, (in fact I liked what I read) but I know how my group of players think, they always try to find exploits in the rules. So I need to be sure I have my tools ready (it's more than three years from my last t...

questions before first game

Next weekend I will play with my friends the Portal under the stars. First DCC game for all of us, but all veteran players. I already read the rulebook almost twice (except the spells) but still have some doubts regarding the rules for zero levels: -No magical healing? I haven't seen any reference t...

Re: Introductions Thread - Join the Band!

Hola! My name is Jaume, I got my DCC rulebook last xmas and I'm still reading it, so, we can say I'm still under the shock effect. But I'm firmly decided to gather my old group of players (from the times of the good old red box) and have some fun with DCC. Sooner or later I will bother you with my l...
