Re: Tales from the Road: My Road Crew experience thus far
I just want to say Baal bless you folks running these games at game stores and cons! I personally don't feel comfortable even playing in games at gamestores, but the game must get out there!

DCC RPG is by far the best of these new OSRish systems. The main reason for me is because the Warrior doesn't suck, in fact he rules in DCC RPG!

3 -- Whatever the roll on the Crit Table is, you add 2.
This. When you are rolling on the Crit table, add 2 to the die roll.

Re: Classic (A)D&D Modules Ideal for DCC
Isle of Dread would be awesome. +1 for X1. Dinosaurs, tribesmen, a map to a mysterious island, a voyage of discovery & exploration! All good Appendix N stuff! Yeah, Isle of Dread has a distinctly DCC feel to it. Wonder if Goodman Games could get the rights to do an official conversion. Probably...

I would love a slipcase edition of the 3rd printing. BUT I would much rather see new DCC RPG content from goodman games like the 'annual' and a Judge's Screen!

My personal sentimental favorites are the froghemoth, vegepypmies, and other weird stuff from the very appendix N inspired "Expedition to Barrier Peaks" ADnD module.

Well, I'm not interested in removing patrons, but it is an interesting theoretical inquiry... I've always thought of magic as a neutral force like gravity. The model...

Re: The Iron Tavern: DCC RPG Blogging
I went ahead and bought all three of the CE series. Thanks. The idea behind the CE series is to give elements that everyone can use within their campaigns....relatively small locations that can be played in a single session if desired, as well as extra "Quest for It" materials - oracular ...

In regards to spellburning,I find it very interesting that the game goes differently as single session vs. campaign. I had not considered that! I also don't quite understand how it works if the wizard does not have a patron. I guess it would just be blood then?

Mightyeroc,
I hope you can make it up to the Tampa Bay area sometime. It is kind of a barren wasteland for DCC RPG. I'm still working on trying to get my 3.5ed group to take up DCC RPG. When it is my turn to GM I am definitely going to shift it to DCC RPG.

Re: The Original Appendix N (reposted)
I just finished with Poul Anderson's The High Crusade, which I found at a used book store in Jim Thorp, PA.
It was definitely Appendix N as a blend of Midieval and Sci Fi. But have to say that it was not as good as The Broken Sword or Three Hearts and Three Lions.

There is no wrong, only degrees of minor-major corrupti...

I have also revamped the corruption tables. I prefer a Cthulhu-esque atmosphere about magic in my campaigns. As in the idea that toying with these things causes the wizard to risk madness, more so than some physical deformity (many of which are relatively harmless in the existing tables). Most of m...

He's been killed in combat a couple times, but death in combat only seems to be a minor inconvenience: one of the clerics inevitably heals any fallen character within the 1 round / level limit, and the "Restore Vitality" spell removes any of the permanent damage. I am planning on addressi...

Re: Four fixes for DCC
With regard to the super powerful staff, you might want to take a look at the section called "Ire of the Gods" on p. 365. It suggests that characters who wield magic items of a certain power level ("+2 enchantment or better" and "any extremely powerful staff" are speci...

Re: Four fixes for DCC
I thought the wizard staff only allows the casting of the spell a few times a day, not unlimited. He can store three "color sprays" in the staff, IIRC. After he rolls a '1' and loses the spell he uses these up and then casts a few more "color sprays" using spellburn, so the '1' ...
