Re: Patrons supplement Kickstarter live!

I dig the potential cover! It's kind of Erol Otus like, and he is my favorite RPG artist ever. I have a question about the book. Will there be more Cthulhu mythos 'gods' like Dagon, Azathoth and Yog-Sothoth?

Re: Why is Cthulhu Neutral?

We hope and pray that Cthulhu remains oblivious to our presence. If he takes notice he will drive you insane and eat you. That ain't Neutral. His followers pray for his return, which essentially would usher the apocalypse in a rain of blood and destruction. He doesn't drive you insane; it's the fac...

This module seems to me to be the best of all the new ones so far. Too bad the rest of us can't get it. :(

Why is Cthulhu Neutral?

It certainly seems to me that he and his worshipers should be chaotic. I mean he wants to slay and destroy everything and eat, and his worshipers are usually insane. I don't think of a Cthulhu cultist as being particularly philosophical or worried about the balance. The are interested in power at an...

Re: How is everyones stamina holding up? (includes session l

Brutal.

I'd have to make some sort of rule where the character, if they convalesce for long periods of time, can regain lost stat points.

Re: Do Wizards require a patron to be able to cast spells?

They do not require a Patron as they don't receive it automatically (Elves, however, do). When you roll a natural 1, it asks you to roll another die to determine if you suffer taint, corruption, or misfire. Usually the entry says, "Patron taint or corruption). It's specific to each spell, unle...

Do Wizards require a patron to be able to cast spells?

If not than how does corruption work, generic random? Is being able to invoke their patron really worth it when you get to be indebted to them for the effort?

Crits and Appendix N

They are fun to read, but holy crap you do not want to be on the other side of these. Especially for Dragons, Giants, and Demons. I will need a +6 luck bonus.

It seems like your characters aren't Appendix N Conans, but the sidekicks who get to die horribly. Am I wrong?

Now I just need to find some d30s the size of softballs.
Can you please post a note when you have more sets ready to sell? Thanks,

Re: So GG is not putting out more DCC rulebooks?

I appreciate the desire for more usable material, especially for those without the time to create their own. Many of the requests noted in this thread are already under consideration for the first annual. My primary criteria is playable material. There is a lot of gaming material that is never play...

Re: So GG is not putting out more DCC rulebooks?

Oh I certainly agree that too many rules supplements spoil the game, but I think there could be a happy medium. 1st Ed did it pretty well. There is certainly room for at least one "official" monster manual, and spells seem difficult to write IMHO. I have to, so I apologize: 1st Edition wa...

I'm guessing you could achieve the same result by subtracting the character's level from the fumble roll.
Brilliant. You've won the thread.

So GG is not putting out more DCC rulebooks?

I see some 3rd party action starting already. But call me disappointed, as 3rd party sources are often unbalanced and unplaytested. No offense meant to these folks who create the stuff. The game is really ripe for: More Monsters More Spells More Races More Classes More Patrons/Gods/Pantheons More Eq...

Crits and fumbles are too frequent.

I haven't played the game but love the rulebook and will run a campaign soon and see if my group enjoys the game. But I think attack fumbles are too frequent. A competent combatant doesn't fumble every 20 swings. So I am thinking of adding a "confirm" type thing, maybe avoid the fumble by ...
