Actually, in all seriousness, someone just proposed a game to me that's Lord of the Rings but on an insect scale. It sounds pretty cool -- you play bugs in a "fantasy world" where pigeons are like dragons and humans are gods. There's magic, feudal ant cities, and mantis mages... it's prett...

That's an interesting idea for a "Sliders" game. As for licensed material, we don't have anything in the works. I've had some ideas, but they haven't born fruit yet. What do you think of licensed video games? Like a Final Fantasy RPG? Or, my personal favorite: a Command & Conquer table...

Bug report: Email notification

When I get an email notification of a reply, the URL in the email doesn't work. Is anyone else having that problem or is it just me?

Escaflowne looks pretty interesting... it also looks like a real anime-style fantasy. The thing I'm working in is more European-style... less wild, crazy, and oversized and more grim, feudalistic, and D&Dish. But I'd like to see more escaflowne... is it on video anywhere?

Glad you caught that penguin bug. I'd been wondering when the penguins would get fixed!

Gold Digger

Anybody else played Gold Digger by Out of the Box Games? Man, it's great. I play almost every day lately. Each game is 10-20 minutes, up to 5 people, some randomness but lots of strategy... a great noncollectible card game.

My Favorite Comics

My favorite company is Humanoids. Their hardbacks are great, as is Metabarons. My favorite comic of all time is the Blueberry series by Moebius and Charlier -- a true classic that I would never have picked up if... why did I pick it up? I can't even remember why I picked it up, since I usually don't...

Dinotopia

Anyone watching this on TV? Is it good? I keep missing it, but I'm not too psyched to pursue it, since I was a little disappointed by the miniseries. It was good, but not as good as the books.

Complete Guide to Cockroaches

We're thinking of doing a series of Complete Guides focusing on vermin and insects. CG to Cockroaches, Camel Crickets, Wharf Rats... No, just kidding. That's my way of bringing up the question, "What do you want to see?" What monsters would you like covered in future Complete Guides? We tr...

What are you playing?

Just curious what sort of d20 stuff people are playing lately, in addition to our stuff. Straight WotC D&D? Variant D&D campaigns? Spycraft? Whose products do you use? And so on. Me, I'm about to start a new D&D campaign set in a world of medieval fantasy mechs that I made up. It's like ...

What next?

The next book in the Broncosaurus Rex world will be Dinosaurs That Never Were, a monster manual featuring dinosaurs that could have evolved on earth, but didn't. Instead, they evolved in Storm Valley. The book covers around 50 of these fantasy dinos, plus a little bit of history on Storm Valley. Aft...

What's your favorite dinosaur?

What dinosaur do you like best? (Within the Broncosaurus Rex world, of course... so the protoceratops are psionic and the raptors are super-smart, and so on...)

The Broncosaurus Rex Comic

We haven't officially announced anything yet, but I thought I'd show off a little of the upcoming Broncosaurus Rex comic book. I originally got the idea for BRex from comics, so it's pretty exciting to be involved in it. I'll be writing the comic and Dan Morton will be illustrating it. Some of you m...
