0 lvl Hit Points

I take it it is always minimum of 1 regardless of Stamina modifier?

I can't seem to see this mentioned anywhere, but like many things i might just have missed it.

Re: Percentage Thief Skills

I like class as race, i think it is fast and it works. Especially if 3rd party publishers start releasing other "race classes", such as Dwarf Rune-masters, or Elven Rangers etc etc at a later date. I just think that they should pick a skill system and stick with it, not bounce around betwe...

Re: 0 Lvl "Character Sheet"

Another option is index card size sheets for them. That way marching order etc can all be done by the placement and positioning of the index cards. So maybe a pdf of 4 index size character sheets on one A4 sheet that can then be filled in and cut into 4 ready for play?

Re: Weapon Training (Page 16)

It may work, i have no doubt of that, but it screams poor design. There must be a better way, even giving 0 lvl characters more HP would be better than arbitrarily removing a rule which is then included in the rest of the game. The current method is both unintuitive and confusing. Or, give some GM a...

Re: Percentage Thief Skills

My lordy lordy... The % Thief skill system becomes even more confusing and bizarre when you realize Halflings get a DC bonus to stealth checks and not a % chance, and then in the skills section Stealth is mentioned again as a skill that can be used by anyone..... C'mon guys, the general feel of the ...

0 Lvl "Character Sheet"

May i suggest that you make the 0 level character sheet something more like this: Excuse the poor forum skills, but i think you'll get the idea. ;) Name: | Rex | Tex | Mex | Str: | 10 (+1) | 5 (-2) | 13 (+!) | etc etc That way each players 3 characters are easily managed on 1 sheet until they either...

Weapon Training (Page 16)

Hi Design Team, Suddenly hand waiving the -4 for 0 lvl characters screams poor design i think. If you want the game to be harsh to lvl 0 characters then let it be so! They all still have 1 weapon they can use trained. To suddenly go, "hey we have this rule that applies to the rest of ...

% Thief skill are a huge turn off for me. Sorry but they really are especially when you have so many other elegant systems in the game.

Joseph has also created 0-level sheets, and class specific sheets. (Very helpful for clerics and thieves.) I'll see if we can't host them in anticipation of the beta release.

Re: DCC Character Sheet?

Race as Class is sweet in my books, and thanks for the quick reply.

I look forward to tomorrow!

Oh and as an aside, i love the idea of Magic Users actually using/needing a real life "spellbook" which was mentioned in another thread!

Just one thing, i note there is no place for Race on that? IS DCC Race as Class, or is it just an omission?

Thanks again.

Hi again! This adventure looks great! Well done to all, hopefully we will get to run it this Sunday as our Godlike game takes a break. So you mentioned traps, monsters...what else? I think this thread ( http://www.goodman-games.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=4834 ) covers a lot of the issues we had in the first, second and third sessions. Then this thread ( http://www.goodman-games.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=4839 ) d...

Re: More Monsters, Please.

Heya Dan, i really think you may have misunderstood the intention of my post, so i'll clarify in the hope of causing less offense: I had a personal emergency situation which forced me out of my home, and we are only now recovering. I had to live in a relative's home who had no internet...that is why...

Re: More Monsters, Please.

Yeh i agree, it needs a monster manual and or adventure...hell it just needs more.... What do i mean by that? Well the core system is sound and fun, but i have no idea why a company would release a new game system when: 1. The author wouldn't have regular/reliable access to the net for the first 2 m...

Re: DP's & Big Daddy Monsters?

1. Where does it say in the book that all PC race NPC's need DPs or on the other hand that Dragons and such don't get them? I don't remember seeing it anywhere but would like to find it if its there. All I saw was a paragraph about Full fledged NPC & Monsters on page 67. Well in the monster cre...

Re: DP's & Big Daddy Monsters?

I can honestly see where the other 2 posters are coming from, but i must ask.... 1. Do you not see how it is a little bizzare how Epic monsters dont have an evade, dodge, weapon DP, and only Fully Fledged NPC's do? Basically meaning that only when players encounter an Elf, Dwarf, Human etc will they...

Re: DP's & Big Daddy Monsters?

After a few beers and some conversation we (as a group of 5) think that NPC's should not have DP's to keep them internally consistant (and easier to run!) with monsters (which as we see it are just nasty more single minded npc's). If a GM wants to make a more complicated advesary then he/she can jus...

Re: DP's & Big Daddy Monsters?

I suppose an article on "full fledged" monsters would make sense, especially for monsters that are encountered in situations other than combat. Damn, another thing on the list  For now, I don't think it would hurt anything to assign abilities to monsters. Figuring out the challenge r...

Re: DP's & Big Daddy Monsters?

Heya Dan, thanks for the quick answers, though i think you may have missed my point a little bit. I really like how the monsters don't have DP's, i think its awesome as a GM. The point i was trying to make is that why do monsters have no DP's but fully fledged NPC's do? Does that make sense what i'm...
