combo

my coglayer has discovered the joy of augmenting existing equipment, using an existing steam-powered item as a baseline then augmenting it. it turns out this allows him to get quite a bit of bang for his buck without having to spend as many powers on a single device. example: Viktors Custom Buzzsaw ...

steamborgs, healing vs repair

Reading Steam Warriors brought up some interesting topics in my head. Do steam borgs require repairs? I read over the class description throroughly, and could not find anything that specifically mentioned their mechanical parts required repair seperate form the healing of their organic components. L...

no worries

i can come up with a few myself i was just checking to see if theres a quick source. i'll post when i have time :) First thing i think would be good is a small rust rider raiding party, prolly with warriors riding and a low level mech jock as the pilot, probably driving a barbagula. post coming :)

steam cannon and amplifiers

i dont think amplifiers would work on a steam cannon... as you have to pass energy through them, not a large shell. Now what you would probably use in it's stead is extra boilers, those seem more designed to increase physical output. :)

Re: assorted mech combat questions

Unless I misunderstand your question, there is nothing to reconcile. Mechs are big and bulky, they are almost impossible to miss, therefore the low armor class. They make up for this disadvantage by having lots of protection in the form of hardness. A lunar dragon doesn't have the advantage of hard...

Dragonmech Modules!

I would like to use this thread to compile a list of Modules that might be especially suited for the Dragonmech Campaign setting. With only one worl-specific module out there (a good one i might add - currently running it) I'm sure fans of the game would like to know where to look to find apropriate...

assorted mech combat questions

1) pilot's armor : the description of this armor indicates that it was designed to help protect mechpilots from some of the hazards of mech-on-mech combat, namely weapons piercing the cockpit. there is no description of any mechanic that i can find as to exactly HOW it does this, other than its armo...

trampling as described in Dragonmech vs the SRD version

The trample maneuver described in the DragonMech main book seems to imply that the mech has to stop moving, and make a concerted effort to trample a specific target within its reach, ie.. stop... stomp.... Trampling in the d20 srd reads as thus: ***** Trample As a full-round action, a creature with ...

Re: not understanding the concept (rotor arm & otherstea
The rotor arm attacks the squares diagonally in front of the character, but not the square directly in front of the character. Like so, with ^ being the character facing north, and X being the squares the rotor arm attacks: XOX O^O OOO
ok, now armed with that knowledge, do...

Re: not understanding the concept (rotor arm & otherstea

Pumps without nozzles are always on. i dont disagree as such, but there is precedent in the examples given after i read some more that suggests that a pump doesnt require a nozzle to be turned off, most of the flamethrower examples in the dragonmech book dont indicate the requiring of a nozzle... H...
