Re: Isle of the Unknown Campaign Mapping
I went with it and I think it worked out great. Bits and pieces of renaissance era technology and as already noted, gunpowder, can be done in ways that are still Appendix N. In my world, basically Gnomes have the monopoly on "smokepowder" and it's hard to get. A murder mystery like No Dign...

Isle of the Unknown Campaign Mapping
I am utilizing this thread to log our DCC campaign sessions, but I won't be recounting the entire session just keeping track of the materials used as possible inspiration for other Judges. Cast of players: Kristi Geoff Lisa Jordan Mike Martin Aaron Here is what we have used thus far and each session...

Re: Tower of the Stargazer - Session Write Up by Stephan Poa
I just ran this one for our group this past Friday and what a hoot. We had an unsuspecting stargazing dwarf get blasted off to the surface he was viewing when one of his fellow party members couldn't help but keep playing with the levers and buttons!

Re: No Skyrim for me,instead more DCC RPG!
really all you need is a d7. The rest can be done with combinations of "standard" polyhedron dice and a d6. Anyone that complains about having to roll two dice to get a result gets to use the real 100 sided golfball, I mean dice
, next time they roll percentile.

Re: No Skyrim for me,instead more DCC RPG!
I'm interested to find out if the pound of Zocchi ends up being the special extended set of dice or not and just "reward" your whiny players with using the next size "normal" polyhedron dice down the chain when they don't have their own dice or won't use a workaround

Hmm, perhaps a motel somewhere along the central coast...something kinda dated or even dingy. You know, with character
Then we can just run games in the rooms and bring like card tables or something for GMs and coolers for refreshments.

Maybe we can plan some sort of Northern Invasion some weekend this summer and road trip it down there
. It wouldn't be a world tour without some fans travelling from show to show heh

Re: Why Levels?
Lots of good feedback but I wanted to add that levels are also a forced progression of character development...just the thing to kick a stagnant player in the pants :) Another quick comment, games like WFRP aren't good examples of a skill based system. All those incremental improvements were just a ...

Re: DunDraCon 37 (2013)
Both of my games at DunDraCon have been a great success. I had 8 players pre-register for my game prior to the con (I think one was registered for your game too Gnome) and 6 showed up (6 others tried to crash!) so we ended up with 8 players each running 2 level zero chars. Well, about 8 croaked duri...

Re: infravision...need rules clarified please
I don't know that I would bring real world anecdotes into a fantasy game. It's not a simulation. If you try to explain everything, you lose some of the mystery. But, each Judge knows whats best for their table.

DCC Tarot Deck
I love to use Tarot cards at the table for all sorts of situations that require a random element or just a little bit of weirdness :) A deck of tarot cards with classic style artwork would be boss. Toss in a sweet reference guide that lists potential in game DCC modifiers for each card (and its inve...

Yes, substitute the class and distance in my statement above. There is no "darkvision" defined in the rules to my knowledge, that is a 3.x term.

Re: infravision...need rules clarified please
The official answer would likely be rules as written, "{Halfling, elf, dwarf} can see in the dark up to {30,60} ft."
It's that simple, they can see. As judge of your own weird world you define how that works.
