If you have Lego store near you they have a bin in the middle of the store usually that lets you build your own mini-figs. That might be an option.

Re: Introductions Thread - Join the Band!

With inter-country commuting for RPG sessions deemed somewhat inconvenient, we're going to investigate various virtual table top solutions – MapTool, Roll20.net or Tabletop Forge seem possible candidates so far. Timezone differences will probably prevent more than occasional sessions, unfortunately...

The Iron Tavern: DCC RPG Blogging

I have been doing a fair amount of blogging about DCC RPG over at The Iron Tavern for those that are interested in another blog that posts some DCC RPG content. Here is a link to the DCC tag I use there: http://irontavern.com/tag/dungeon-crawl-classics/ Most recently I started a weekly series taking...

Re: New Judge starting a level 0 game question

I woud be reluctant to run 12 players at once and expect the funnel to actual whittle down who could play in the game. Some one is going to go home quite disappointed if they came looking to play and has to go home after the first encounter. I have seen many of a first encounter where 1 or more 0-le...

Re: Spell number limitation

My personal thought as far as house-ruling this are would be to allow wizards of level 6 and greater to construct laboratories, towers, or sanctuaries of some kind, and to keep a library inside. High upkeep costs. They could spend a month per level swapping out spells "memorized." So it's...

Re: game via conference call?

I will just add that Google+ is a great place for gamers to talk gaming and find others to game with online. I run a one-shot of DCC here and there and post my open slots over on Google+. There are other people running games over there as well. Don't be afraid of the tech, it is pretty easy to get t...

Re: Three Things I Don't Love About DCC

Here's something to consider: How are the player's going to feel about their "throw away" character once it not only survives an adventure but also does something so epic they are going to be telling people about it out-of-play for years? We've already seen this in some of the games I hav...

Ogrepuppy and Karaptis Do you want to try a game via conference call? We do this for work all the time, why not an RPG? If you're interested send me an email and I can look into the technical details. [offtopic] There are lots of great ways to game remotely these days. I've been playing in a DCC ca...

Re: Encumbrance Houserules Meanderings

Encumbrance rules are fun for nobody. It doesn't really matter how simple the mechanic is. Yeah - I will wing the encumbrance system in games I run. In that I will keep a casual eye on what the characters are carrying and let them know up front that they need to keep it reasonable. Luckily I typica...

Re: Anybody daring to swear he doesn't roll concealed? ;)

In one of the play tests with Joseph I participated in where he rolled out in the open, such random rolls conjured a battle goat to the party, allowed my cleric to turn a monstrously large demon frog and brought some really cool corruption on a 1st level magic user. Those moments help make DCC RPG ...

I roll in the open. Used to use a screen, but then had a DM for 3.x that didn't use a screen at all. I found it sort of refreshing and adopted the style myself.
