Re: DCC needs just one thing
I think it is the intimidation factor of a large book that might scare some new players. Really, the game isn't that rules heavy and it is all the art work and tables for each spell that really consume the space. Rules content is pretty light. It sometimes just takes a single advocate of the game to...

Re: Read Magic - Wizard version
Can a wizard actually lose Read Magic if they roll bad on the casting? The spell is listed only in the Cleric section, so I am not sure, thanks! It looks like it is in the Wizards's section to me, pp 152. Yes, if the wizard fails their spell check they can lose Read Magic for the day. It is not gon...

Re: Connecting adventures
I kicked off a DCC RPG campaign about 5 or 6 weeks ago now and came to the same issue. After running DCC RPG one-shots for so long that didn't require weaving of adventures and such together I suddenly needed to tie things together a bit. I am running the Sunken City adventures from Purple Sorcerer ...

Re: DCC RPG Alternate Cover #2
A quick update for those looking forward to the alternate cover in October. I will be moving the release date out to December. The good part of this is that the cover will be "unveiled" soon, with the later release date, and that will give some time for the pre-order bonus item to be comp...

Re: How is DCC RPG doing for Goodman Games?
There had been a thread or two, I think mainly review threads that had some posting in it. There are definitely some folks over there that play it. Start one up in General and we can see if we can get some traction!cthulhudarren wrote:I don't see much discussion of DCC on other boards (like enworld). This saddens me.

Re: Online Game with Maptools
MapTool is an online Virtual Table Top. You do download a client: http://www.rptools.net/index.php?page=maptool Once you have the client downloaded and running you can then connect to another person's instance/server and have a shared battlemap. It is a pretty cool, but these days I've been doing a ...

Re: Mithril and Spell Check Penalty
Thanks all for the feedback. At least I'm not overlooking a chart! I understand the craftsmanship not being the same across armors regardless of material. It sounded like iron was also a factor in the spell check penalty. So if the armor was made of mithril and had no iron it it, the check would at ...

Mithril and Spell Check Penalty
On page 70 of the rules it mentions that: "Note that armor manufactured from mithril, adamantine, or other materials not containing iron may reduce the spell check penalty." Is there a consensus on just how much the spell check penalty would be reduced by? I have an elven character that ju...

Re: The Iron Tavern: DCC RPG Blogging
I've been catching up on reading your DCC Blog, IronWolf. Some nice things here, and I'm really enjoying it. Nice to know that a potential player could go there to find a nice condensed review of the upside and downside of the class he's thinking of playing. You get the "Deputy Fin" stamp...

Re: 2nd Printing PDF download problem
For the folks that got it at Paizo, you should be able to check your My Downloads and see if the 'Date Download Last Updated' column shows something recent (mine says Thursday). Even if you didn't get the email, I think your download will still have been updated.

I am a big fan of the 0-level funnel, so I would encourage you to try that with your players. Make sure to set their expectations, that yes - there will be carnage and there will be character death. When I ran it first with my son, the look on his face was one of astonishment as the first two charac...

As of 11:20 tonight, it is still not updated on Paizo. I sent them an email yesterday asking when they thought they'd update it, but did not get a response yet. Yeah - Paizo is a bit slow with approvals. I know when Purple Duck Games released Bone Hoard I was waiting and waiting to grab it from Pai...

Luck score guides monster decisions. PC with the lowest Luck gets charged by the monster / gets hit by the arrow trap / whatever. Oh, I need to start using this more. I always feel like it is so arbitrary when we have so many characters and deciding which one the critter attacks. This would help me...
