Re: Would love to join a game
Thanks. Posted in the pit. Should I send my purplesorcerer.com 0 lvl shudder mountain humans to you, or are they goimg to die too quickly for that to matter? Just post 'em here. I have no idea how quickly they will die. DCC is swingy that way. That's an understatement. And part of the appeal of DCC...

Or are the Pathfinder boards the best place to look for a DCC game now?

Would love to join a game
Hey everyone.
Would love to get funnelled and play. Especially interested in playing a wizard, but I guess some of that depends on the funnel. I live in Asia, so day and night would be switched from US residents. Any openings?

Is Michael Curtis still alive?
Been waiting for Stonehell Dungeon 2, with no recent news. I realize that it's not DCC, but Michael Curtis does a lot of work for DCC. So, just wanted to know, is he still alive and kicking?

Re: DCC RPG extra products?
Don't worry, those ten levels are the same as twenty levels in D&D. Just different scale. I've heard a lot of that recently - Hackmaster people say that their 20 levels map to 10 levels in D&D. Would that mean that 5 DCC levels would be the same as 20 Hackmaster levels? (snip - awesomely cl...

My bad. Bad memory - I was thinking of spell levels, I think. I just checked, and I do have 10 levels. The question still stands, though.....

DCC RPG extra products?
I have the core rules book, but it only goes up to level 5. Are higher levels going to be added later? Are there going to be new spells, or anything else added? Is there a timeframe or a guess for any of this?

Re: HackMaster
I've been looking through Hackmaster Basic, and there is one claim they make that I'm having trouble understanding how it works: They say that high level PCs can be in danger from low-level monsters. Could someone explain this please?
Thanks
Thanks

Playthrough of DCCRPG, plus random races
Adding 3.x/PF style races to the character creation process, as per my previous thread - how does it play out? Well, we rolled up a group of 20, played through "the portal under the stars" (very carefully, I might add, after the deaths of room 2), and only 3 survived. The funnel still work...

Re: My DCC-style random race selection chart.
Thanks for all the feedback, everybody. I rolled up a few groups of 20, and found a few things I didn't like, so still tweaking the chart. I got rid of Grippli and Half-Giants because neither of them were really resonating with me. Not enough humans (the old school gods were right)were being rolled ...

Re: My DCC-style random race selection chart.
The nice thing about DCC RPG is that it can be played in different styles. (1) The designed style is that of Appendix N, which is quite human-centric and emphasizes core class types over unusual classes. (2) A "high fantasy" style more like WOW or other "modern" fantasy fiction,...

Re: My DCC-style random race selection chart.
The reason why I don't post very often is that much of what I might say might be seen as me being a dick. Guang: have you read much appendix N? You seem more of a WOW, 4E guy (prob not gal). Maybe you are a high fantasy 3e guy, I don't know. I guess you answered that... pathfinder . You are obvious...

Re: My DCC-style random race selection chart.
Nice chart! I'm just curious how you would handle someone rolling up any given race. Maybe someone can chime in with their quick monster-to-PC conversion guidelines? Myself, I'd avoid stat modifiers I'm going to go with stat modifiers, but capped at 3 and 18. Keep the straight 3d6 for stats, but if...

My DCC-style random race selection chart.
Love the DCC classes, but don't like races as classes. I like to have lots of races, so went through my cobbled-together campaign setting (with almost all pieces borrowed from lots of other settings), gathered a bunch of local races together, and eventually came up with a DCC-style table for selecti...

Re: DCC classes, 3.x races. Opinions?
I figured that using the DCC racial abilities would make non-human characters overpowered, as a Dwarven Warrior, for example, would be 2 classes added into one. Thinking of using some off-the-wall races as well as the standard 3.

DCC classes, 3.x races. Opinions?
I'm thinking of using the 4 core DCC classes (and combat and character creation rules), and allowing players to choose 3.x races. I'm a bit concerned about the possible 20 ability score, and wonder what else I might be overlooking. Let me know how good/bad you think it might work, and workarounds? t...
