Re: Choon the Unspeakable?

We can't talk about The Unspeakable here!

Well, okay, we can.

It rings a bell, but I can't remember any details... maybe someone else can?

Re: 9th Printing

From what I understand, they are partially converted in the text, but I don't know to what degree... The complete conversion appears in the softcover, as I understand it.

Re: 9th Printing

Yeah, eventually, PDF links on the site and via DriveThru will have the 9th printing PDF -- I'm not totally clear on what the delay is on that... bookmarking, maybe? It can just mean the softcover can be purchased in 9th printing while the PDF and hardcover is still at 8th printing. FWIW, the Stefan...

For clarity for future readers of this thread, the OAR series does not feature DCC rules -- though many folks wish they did!

Re: 9th Printing

Both the softcover and the hardcover were considered part of the same print run. I'm just reporting things that have been said by those who know -- I have no (well, okay, little) facility with time travel to make sure events and decisions will have happened differently!

Re: 9th Printing

Okay, so the word is that those two hardcovers you've linked are "partially updated" to the new text. The order for those was placed with the printer while the work was still ongoing. The order for the most recent printing of the softcover version was placed later and has more extensive up...

Re: Elves of the fairy tradition or "normal" rpg elves ?

When I most recently played an Elf, I had the character refer to non-Elves as "mortals" and basically tried to make the Elf as 'otherworldly' as possible -- within just one adventure, so not all that much, though I think I could certainly have taken it further if it had been a campaign. Th...

Re: Extra Benisons and Luck

The "unchanging modifier" you're referring to (pg 19) is the Birth Augur effect, not the general Attribute modifier of -3 to +3, which fluctuates with the changing score for any Attribute (including Luck).

The original Kickstarter for the Purple Planet boxed set raised $60,000+ -- maybe just front that or something close to it to GG to re-print the boxed set and I bet they'd go for it!

Re: New Spells in OAR products.

Looking at one at random (The Lost City) it doesn't seem to address that in the introductory text at the top, and certainly doesn't with the spells themselves. The idea does occur to me that this may be intentional, so you can ascribe those spells to whatever classes are convenient within the party ...

Oh, and you don't get 1 or 2 back on each Attribute simultaneously, you pick where the 1 or 2 points of Attribute healing goes.

Re: 20 point spell burn

Thinking of it as the "20 points of Spellburn" thing is coming at it the wrong way... The heading on the paragraph is "Automatic Criticals" If you burn 20 pts, you get the benefit of doubling your bonus, as you would with a critical without the need to actually roll the critical ...
