Re: Classic Crawlers Guide
Interesting idea. I'm actually facing a bit of a dilemma right now. Dungeon Alphabet is very close to selling out its most recent print run. I definitely want to do another print run but I'm wondering if I should shake it up a little. Should I do a new cover? Maybe do a softcover version? And to yo...

I'm sure DCC RPG will have some DM advice too. You might also check out Dungeon Alphabet.

Re: Class & Racial Class
The idea is to enable elfs, dwarfs and halflngs to access (human) classes of Warrior, Mage, Cleric and Thief. They retain the racial capabiliies (0-level) and they obtain the class features. For exemple, a halfling Thief has Infravision (racial), Luck and Wits (Thief Class) but not Good luck charm ...

Some thoughts about racial abilites
During a recent re-reading of the beta rules, I noticed that while the dwarves add their level as bonus to their skill checks to notice traps, slanting passages, shifting walls and new construction, the elves receive a flat +4 to detect secret doors. Is their any reason why these work different? Ano...

Re: Class & Racial Class
I ran into a bit of a problem when running a funnel adventure recently. One of the characters that was created was an Elven Sage. I understand how to create 0-level humans, but what abilities does a 0-level Elf, Dwarf, or Halfling have? Do they not have infravision, immunity to sleep, or vulnerabil...

Hell yeah! I'd love to see some forthcoming module's art on my wall. Perhaps Beyond the Black Gate or Sailors on the Starless Sea. The core book's cover is okay too, but the covers of most modules are way cooler.goodmangames wrote:Poster, maybe??

Really nice list of spells. I'm glad you include five very different patrons - from their name it seems they are general enough to fit into any campaign setting. The spell misfires are cool too. Can we get a glimpse on the final layout of spells?

Tome of Horrors I-III (or the new Complete version) is also a great source of foul creatures.

Occupations you'd like to see
I miss the following occupations from the list:
Fisherman (knife, fishing net)
Militiaman (spear, flask of spirits)
Sailor (cutlass, rope)
Vagabond (staff, rations for five days)
Which occupation's would you add?

Maybe Jospeh can be convinced that Goodman Games should also sell the PDF, maybe at a discount for pre-order folks, in which case you could get it in advance of the paper copy. Might save you the 2-3 week delay. Due to the awesomeness of the product, maybe abk108 should move! Yeah... Italy su...

A Negative: Sorry, But I Have One I do not like the rolls for thief abilities. In the old days they were percentile rolls, but I don’t think they should be that way here. The d20 + Mod vs. DC works great and is similar to the attack rolls. D&D used to be a bunch of rules and numerous exceptions...

Re: Why no "WIS" Wisdom stat
Wisdom and Charisma were the typical dump stats - they weren't that important (especially before 3e), like i.e. Dexterity. Merging them gives us a more useful Personality stat, I think.

Re: Un-dead vs. Undead nitpick
It amuses me that RPG characters in quasi-medieval settings refer so frequently to the "undead" as unholy, decrepit monsters when the term, in an actual late medieval setting, would have merely been reference to a lively neighbor! Well, it's only a quasi -medieval setting. Also most of us...

Yeah, Erol Otus comes to my mind when watching Mullen's bizarre and weird art. Although I must admit, his colour art is much better, than his black & white. Still, the weirdness is there, and I like it.reverenddak wrote:Mullen's art is the sh*t! He reminds me of Erol Otus. I f-ing love that stuff.

3. The Crit tables need to be a bit more generic. There were at least 5 occasions in the 2 sessions where the Crit table made no sense at all with the narrative. Yeh i winged it, but if i'm going to wing it all the time then why bother having to look stuff up? Cheers. I completely agree with this. ...

1. They don't add flavor. They impose non-contextual and bizarre flavor. How did my 1st level neutral fighter suddenly become barbaric when he became 2nd level? If they made any semblance of sense I wouldn't rail against them. But they are arbitrary and provide no value either in the game world or ...

3. There might be some truth in yer words. And the tables right now look awful. The worst of the bunch is Blessing and that's because you just can't do horizontally balanced columns like that if the text isn't similar in length through out. It should be: When cast on self 1-11 fail 12-.... When cas...

Re: Choosing a Class (p19)
This says that you can't choose to be a dwarf, elf or halfling unless you were one as a 0-level character, however it doesn't say the reverse. So it could be interpreted as saying that 0-level dwarves can decide not to choose the 'dwarf' class and be (for example) wizards instead. I would say yes: ...

I would keep the cartoons. I like them. One thing I would change about them, is that they're a bit small.
