All things Whiterock
Inspired by JediOre, I’m thinking of running my next C&C campaign in Whiterock so I wanted to track down all of the information on the Goodman Games forum pertaining to DCC 51 (Castle Whiterock) and DCC 51.5 (The Sinister Secret of Whiterock), which I believe are the only two products currently ...

Are you suggesting a DCC t-shirt that is tear-away? I seem to recall that Kirk's shirt got half ripped in almost every episode that involved actual hand-to-hand combat.GnomeBoy wrote:Jim Kirk is unequivocal. Re: DCC 13--Dungeon Interludes, Part 2: My C&C Game
I tend to automatically convert 3E to C&C myself. I'm not sure it's an "exact" conversion, but who cares? It's not like my players know what it started out like, anyway! If you are familiar with this DCC, you find I changed several things about this second installment to make it ...

Don't forget the least supported TSR rpg of all time: Metamorphosis Alpha. Also, didn't TSR produce the first edition of the Empire of the Petal Throne rpg? TSR was banging 'em out in the 70's and early 80's. I never heard of these games. What were they about? These are both excellent games, if you...

Re: How big is your group?
I think that the "best" group size is 3-4 players. This gives a variety of classes but not so many players that people have to wait too long before their turn. One-on-one player to GM can be fun, but it can also be frustrating if that player gets stuck for ideas or if he needs an ability t...

Re: How Far Ahead Do You Plan Your Campaign?
I've tried planning every detail and planning no details and each style works well with some groups, fails with other groups. As with most things, the "correct" answer is probably somewhere in the middle. The problem with planning too many details is the "railroad" effect where p...

I game using Troll Lord's Castles & Crusades rule set, with some house ruling. I haven't read your first campaign log, but I love C&C and am glad to see it being used in the DCC modules. (And #13 wasn't written for C&C, right? I'd be interested to hear how well the conversion to C&C...

Re: Judges Guild 4e?
Any chance we could see the JG titles reformatted to fit the new DCC RPG when it comes out?
That would be a nice touch, because it would (1) make JG products availible again, and (2) be an instant source of material to go along with the new rpg.
Win-win, I'm thinking.

Re: A magazine for Age of Cthulhu
I suspect that a better approach might be to have a single "Goodman Games" magazine -- whether it be Level Up or something entirely different -- instead of trying to put together seperate magazines for each game line. I've been following the progress of TrollsZine , a free rpg magazine for...

Otus certainly has become "the" artist for a certain segment of the D&D population. I love his work, and it has a very different feel than (for example) Elmore's art.
Kind of neat how an artist can be known for creating a style that fits a particular game. (Like Brom and Dark Sun.)

I've been a huge Amber diceless fan for a long time, but it seems that fewer and fewer gamers have heard of it. Even fewer have played it. Kind of sad. :( In the end, I decided it wasn't really my cup of tea, but it was definitely an innovative and iconic system. Even more than most games, though, ...

Zelazny's Amber series is one of my all-time favorites. Re: 4th Edition rules + super heroes = massive gaming fun
There may be many superhero games out there, but none of them really jump out at me. Seems like the 4E rules set was designed with superhero play in mind.
On the other hand, it seems like Goodman Games is moving away from 4E at the moment. Perhaps now isn't the best time to do another 4E product.

I agree. Once I saw the Gamers II movie, I immediately wanted a copy of the module. Searching e-bay yields nothing, even if I was willing to pay top dollar for it.
I hate to see this stuff become so collectable. I'd rather that we could actually play those modules.
Just my two coppers.

I'm frustrated by the low traffic levels here, mostly because when you check and nothing changes then you tend to check less and less frequently. This happens to me a lot where I'll go in cycles of checking every day, then maybe move on and not look again for weeks. Hard to get any real chatter goin...

Re: Pre-generated Characters vs. Custom Characters
I often use pregen characters the first time I run my players through a particular game system because it removes some of the prep time for them and helps them figure out the game a little faster. After we get an adventure or two under our belt then I switch to characters of their own design.
