Midgard
My favorite setting for fantasy gaming is Midgard. Everything about it just fits what I love about Fantasy. The races do include Kobolds and Dragonmen as well as a slew of other races(Crow people descended from Odin's magical crows)Minotaurs ect... The Gods are just more...well....Godly. The entire ...

The day one of those dice monkeyes loops up to the table after having slapped some hard earned cash down for there very own rpg book I will: A- Let them look at spell charts ect at the table. B-...

Re: dwarfy town
I have a Dwarven surface city named Hammerhold. It's the dwarven trading post and where everyone goes to buy dwarven goods and ore ect.. Over time its grown. Hammerhold is laid out very lawfully in squares with large stone blocks being the primary building material. I made it so the town is VERY fun...

Re: Aereth reboot for DCC RPG?
After much thought.....how about retooling Aereth for DCCRPG in a brief Gazetteer? Something with basic God info, maps and paragraph sized write ups of kingdoms? Think more AD&D Greyhawk and less 3.5's Forgotten Realms. Really I bet the guys could put a short Gazetteer together with the old maps ...

Re: When PCs die - how do you handle this?
Normally I don't have to SAY anything. The little jig of death and the ceremonial shredding of the character sheet and characters name inclusion onto the Wall of Doomed Souls list we keep is enough. A few times when dealing with high level pc's there might be a shout of glee or and once or twice a f...

Re: No Skyrim for me,instead more DCC RPG!
Well the dice are indeed not what I need and at $55 for a pound not THAT great a deal. So I canceled my order but who knows if it will go through in time. I will just return it if it does but will be out the $55 in the meantime so no real sets of dice till the mess is figured out. Once again the dam...

Re: No Skyrim for me,instead more DCC RPG!
My groups major hangup for DCC RPG was the dice. Not one player bought any dice for it...hated to use work a rounds and complained none stop about it. So $50 to shut them up and get to play my favorite rpg is small price to pay. Even if I am pretty much broke for the next 30 days.

Don't know how decent they are yet. Uninked to boot as well as costing $50 but it is a POUND of Zocchi dice! http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51gX%2BCvhEyL._SL500_AA300_.jpg http://www.amazon.com/Pound-Zocchi-Assorted-GameScience-Dice/dp/B0046GURNE/ref=sr_1_1?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qi...

No Skyrim for me,instead more DCC RPG!
So I have been eying Skyrim for the past month or so. It looks right up my ally but last time I played it on my sons X-Box it didn't hold my interest for long. I went to the store today to buy it and couldn't make the sale to myself. Instead I went home and bought DCC RPG Hardback and a Pound of Zoc...

Re: Why did you buy (or not buy) Attack of the Frawgs?
Price Sensitivity? $5 or less with a good looking cover or at least remotely interesting premiss and I buy it.I buy 2 or 3 of these per month depending on game play. $9+ I look for reviews and might even ask others what they thought of it. I buy one of these a month unless I'm hard up for ideas or a...

Re: Tunnels & Trolls Kickstarter
In T&T the default combat is group not individual like in DCC. You CAN just run combats like in DCC one player verse one monster going around the table but it works better if you just have the party roll, add together all there totals and then roll for the monsters and do the same. This has been ...

In between DCC games with ideas for the next one.
So I'm working on next time we move over to DCC. I'm thinking of doing the following. No Thieves. Use the option from Crawl 1 and everyone can try thief skills. No Clerics- Some of the clerics spells move to Wizard ones. Hit Dice Pools from crawl 1- Everyone has extra pools of hit points they can us...

Re: Tunnels & Trolls Kickstarter
T&T is a GREAT game if your GM is the kind of guy/gal who can think on her feet, loves to mix in a good amount of humor and hates crunch. My last game that I ran took me less than 5 min to think up and stat out and we played for 6 hours on it. T&T COULD be played other ways as any rpg can but...

Re: Character age
I like to make my players cry from time to time but unless someone was REALLY being a $%$% I wouldn't place a trap like that in my game. Sure, kill them, torture them or heck even make them fear but Don't frigging bore them with aging(unless its to death). It's no fun(unless it is). I might age them t...

Re: Converting 3rd edition Skills and Feats to DCC RPG
Mid levels DCC (4-7) are really rough to judge when converting. In 3.5 that could be 8-14th level BUT in general the DCC characters are both more powerful in raw ability and less powerful in magic and hit points/saves ect.. I normally just eyeball it and half the monsters hit points or what have you...

Re: clarification on Mighty Deeds of Arms
We are on our 43rd game with this party though MANY of them have not been around that long. Some of our games last 2-3 hours and some 12 hours or longer. Our Wizard has not only gotten himself killed from casting but twice taken others out with him. The Wizards luck score is now 5. They have a magic...

Re: clarification on Mighty Deeds of Arms
The Wizard faces FAR more danger casting a spell than the warrior swinging his might deed. Unless you have house ruled on a fumble the Warrior can kill not only himself but everyone else!
