The Delve format was described in a Design & Development article. The early 4E Dungeon issue before the subscription service was turned on could be used as examples.

You could always pickup a new Dungeon Crawl Classic.

KQ#7: Steampunk monsters

Kobold Quarterly #7 has a number of new monsters for steampunk settings. I haven't read the entire article yet. I really like the Hateful Piston Chocker.

The gunpowder spell article might also be useful. The first few look like they could have similar effects with steamguns.

why don't you just require them to have resistance to all standard types to resist lunar, with their effective resistance equal to the lowest of their other resistances? Because I want the players to be able to specialize in lunar slaying but I don't necessarily want them to have an easy time with ...

Point is, if you wish a not-resistible energy, you just use untyped attack. I want is to resistible. I just don't want it be common. I want the lunar dragons to cause havoc and give rise to dragonslayers who get resist lunar items/spells/etc. You are right in a typical campaign you would be foolish...

I'd make lunar (moonlight? moonbeem?) a new energy type rather than use radiant. For mechs, I would build the mech designs and then create a bunch of example mechs. There is no secret. They are sick of being labeled so they decided they are not apart of any group. Unfortunately people started referring to them as the Nameless Clan which infuriated them to no end.

I noticed the same thing. I don't believe there are any hard and fast rules about this. Instead they seem to take the base from the DMG system and then alter them a bit.

10 years? I hope the Aboleths have something cool. Definitely going to have to design some mechs for them if they don't. (Since I'm stuck without the Eye Tyrants, the Aboleths are a reasonable substitute.)

Mech design seems tedious in the current system. The options are scattered throughout the books. I'm hopping DragonMech Battle does a better job of managing that.

Considering the low volume of this forum you may not see much in response no matter what you post.

Are the lunar traits a leftover from 3E when the product was converted to 3.5? I was trying to write up a creature in the later monster format used by wizards and realized creatures no longer have half damage from things and vulnerability only adds 50% damage not double. I suppose it could be change...

My brother has played the 4e Shadowfell adventure. In his opinion a fight with a high hit point monster will probably take more rounds but rounds are dramatically shorter to run. So even if you have sandpaper down the hit points it won't take that long in real time.
