Re: Extra-aspect spells
Another note. The normal range of aspects is dictated by the Effect type. Augment and Curse have a larger list of possible aspects than Harm (possible range of only RS and toughness). I guess this is the part I am having trouble with still. "Any effect that incorporates more aspects than is wi...

Re: Magic Item questions
4. On page 55 under the heading Permanent magic item, Lets you know that it is the GM's decision on using a target number or a random roll to make the permanent static bonus magic item. So if you wanted to create a magic sword that was plus one, Your GM would then decide if you were rolling against ...

Re: Number of spells known
Actually, on page 6 there is a bit of clarification. It says, "After character creation, no single ability die can be increased more than one rank per level of advancement". You can do multiple increases in the same ability, just not twice to the same ability die tier. Hmmm...the way it's...

Re: Extra-aspect spells
Player rolls 1d10, 1D8 (or whatever dice allow for the example numbers to occur). The results are a 10 and a 6 which equals 16. He drops the lowest die for his cost as per the SP cost rules which results in a cost of 10 but since lion strike is an extra aspect spell(it effects reflexes and unarmed ...

Re: Number of spells known
That reminds me of a mostly unrelated question I had about spells. Suppose you wanted to let a player character have a "spell-like ability"...that is, an ability that duplicates exactly the effects of a spell but isn't actually a "spell". It's an inborn or otherwise instinctual ...

Re: Extra-aspect spells
I'm having trouble understanding the description of extra-aspect spells. What is the "normal range of Aspects"? Could you please explain the cost of the "lion's strike" spell? Thanks! I am not sure what the "Normal range of aspects" is so I can't help there but I will ...

Re: More Monsters, Please.
I agree mostly at first with this but I sat down and created a fodder footpad in 1 min and an exceptional creature in about 5. I would guess that this time is reduced signifigantly when you are used to the system. If everyone who bought the game took 15 minutes to make 2 or 3 monsters and posted th...

Re: More Monsters, Please.
IMO, what ERP needs is a monster manual. While I absolutely love toolkit type games I've been so short on spare time that it's tough to come up with the adventure and the creatures for when I do get to run a game. Something like the Castles & Crusades Monsters & Treasure book would be absol...

Re: DP's & Big Daddy Monsters?
I can honestly see where the other 2 posters are coming from, but i must ask.... 1. Do you not see how it is a little bizzare how Epic monsters dont have an evade, dodge, weapon DP, and only Fully Fledged NPC's do? Basically meaning that only when players encounter an Elf, Dwarf, Human etc will the...

Re: DP's & Big Daddy Monsters?
I think it's fine the way it is. If I want a special long-term adversary I can make him up just like a character, DPs and all. If you want to give a Dp to an NPC, go for it, but I wouldn't change the system for it. Make it  an optional rule! Agreed. Optional rule that you can make your NPC's ...

Re: Initiative questions
The second paragraph on page 25 starts with the sentence "Each creature may take one action during each battle phase." In each phase? Or should it read "each round"? Random initiative: Can only players and full-fledged NPCs use this option? I'm assuming so, but I'm not sure if t...

Re: How about some details on the magic system...
No extra loss, because it takes a while to recover, short of magic anyway. Resilience recovers 10% per hour waking, or 20% per hour in sleep, while Toughness recovers at the slower rate of 1 or 2 points a day. The Healing ability can help a lot with that, under the right conditions. So there is a m...

Re: Any idea on a release date?
The books shipped from the printer, so they should be hitting stores by the end of the month, I think. I'll have to ask Joseph how fast people can get their books by direct order, though I know you're doing the game a big favor by going through your local FLAGS. ;-) Cool. Hope it gets to the stores...

I would have to agree with this one...Def going to start off in a generic fantasy world and then see how the system works out...Eisenmann wrote:I don't know to be honest. I'm one of those guys who like to run a game according to the vibe of the rules. So I"ll see!

Re: How about some details on the magic system...
Have been reading up on all the posts here on this game and it looks real good! :D Is there any loss on SP recovery if the character is wounded or is extremely tired (Up and moving for over 24 hours)? I would assume so but am just curious if the system has rules for it or if it was left up to the GM...
