Wow, I am only now seeing this.
Congrats to the both of you for producing such a marvellous specimen. This also finally answers the question: does Mr. Goodman have any other hobbies?

Re: Hand-Tooled (0-level) Character Sheet
@koboldstyle: I love the sheets and their design! It's great work. Say, will you do revised sheets for each class once the DCC RPG is out? And more resource cards would also be greatly appreciated!

Re: Ancient Sling Bullets Had Written Messages
Wow, that's really an interesting piece of trivial knowledge! Who would have thought? Might be fun to have a scene where a character messily extracts a sling bullet that just hit him, only to find some taunt or other funny message inscribed on it... like "Watch out!" or "Contains lead...

Re: Art Preview: Jeff Easley
Man, a dream comes true! JEFF EASLEY was one of my artist heroes from the beginning of my roleplaying "career" and now he is doing art for one of the most promising roleplaying games since the invention of the OGL. Still can only half believe it!! Really - you guys rock big time!

Re: Castle Whiterock Question for Authors
While we're at it, I noticed that the math of the stat writeups of the pregenerated characters is not correct. I noticed that when I was transfering them to full-blown char sheets and filled in the blanks. For example, Darsus the cleric has the Alertness feat but it does not figure into his skill ra...

Re: Thank you for Dungeon Crawl Classics
@Treebore, JediOre: Thank you guys for your kind words. I know that you have a valid point because I have Castles & Crusades and played it. I like the game and find it's simple mechanisms very elegant. But I doubt that 4E adventures with their rather strict encounter design will convert easily t...

Re: Goodman Games and 4E
Thank you all for your convincing words. I have absolutely no doubt that Goodman Games will continue to make great sourcebooks and adventures. And I really mean it - after all, I have bought a lot of 3.5 stuff from you and I was (and still am) very pleased with it! As I might play 4E on and off, I w...

Re: Goodman Games and 4E
I think subsequent books, both from WotC and other companies (*cough* Goodman *cough*) will continue to expand your options so that you can make a character that doesn't resemble all others of its type. Sure, and I have no doubt that other companies will try that. But the thing is that the inherent...

Re: Goodman Games and 4E
The game at its outset is simplier as there is a universal mechanic for everything. But in the long run, I think that simplicity will actually detract from the longevity of the product. Why do I say that? To keep thinks simple they further abstracted the game to a point where what little sense of r...

Thank you for Dungeon Crawl Classics
Hi folks at Goodman Games, it has been a long time since I posted here. Partly because other things tied down my free time and attention. Partly because I was preoccupied with other local forums (I am from Germany). And now it seems as if I will continue to be a rare guest at GG's forum. Since I am ...

Paizo sticks to 3.5 for Pathfinder
As it turns out Paizo Publishing (Pathfinder, GameMastery) will release a special Pathfinder-RPG based off of the 3.5 rules, thereby keeping the rules in circulation. An alpha version of their rulebook (scheduled for August 2009) is available for download from their homepage. Since I am one who will...

Hi Dan! I wonder if you would mind if I translate parts of your infos about the Eldritch Game System into German so I can post them in our RPG Forum? Thanks for considering this! Olaf (Argamae) That would be fine with me! ;-) Great! Thanks very much. In case you or anyone with a smattering of Germa...

Hi Dan! Having been absent from this forum for some weeks I was all the more surprised to see the announcement of ELDRITCH. After what I have read so far it seems to be a really interesting game/system. But what I ask myself is this: with all the 4E craze going about don't you believe that developin...

I would surmise that the stats have the same bonuses as 3.5. But as in STAR WARS: Saga Edition there might be an Action Bonus equal to half the level already added in (to all attributes). Since the Spiked Devil is level 6, this bonus would be +3 which fits in nicely with the standard bonuses due to ...

Yes, but the witch queen has her own 1E saga! That's fairly impressive. Hm, yeah... seeing it from that perspective sounds kinda cool... :D Face it, Joseph could have made it a Dancing Queen (in pink text), so you got off easy. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.) Oh, absolutely not. I do l...

BTW, Call of Cthulu has had, um, six editions (?) and they're all pretty much compatible with each other.... That's right, of course. You could also name RuneQuest or Basic Roleplaying System from which Cthulhu has been derived. All of them are faithful to their original core system with only rathe...

It still kinda blows my mind how versatile that rules set is. And I never thought it was hard to pick up to begin with, after the basic concepts were in your head, because it was so consistent. After playing with it for years, I could still think of weird, random powers and abilities far beyond tho...
