Re: Earlier 3.5 modules to DCC?
One of my biggest goals with the game is to give players the same experience they had when they were young and discovering D&D for the first time. One of the best ways to do this is to create a sense of mystery and surprise – to leave the players constantly unsure of their opponents. Remember w...

Re: What adventures will be available when core book release
Wow. $39.99 for a 480-page book? 480 cheap photocopies at the library would cost more than that. What a deal!

Re: Announcing Haven Goodman
How wonderful! From my experience having a baby, I wouldn't blame you if DDC RPG didn't come out until 2013! Talk about a 24/7 job. In the first few months after my daughter was born, I literally sometimes didn't know if it was a.m. or p.m.

Re: Countdown Thread
As for the pre-order special offer, anyone who pre-orders will receive a unique module that will not otherwise be available in stores. It's a full module, not just an "insert" - full-color cover, 16 pages, written by Harley with art by Doug and Stefan. For what character level is this mod...

Re: Countdown Thread
Uh, oh. It looks like we're going to have to stop the countdown. The DDC RPG is no longer scheduled for a February release. Now it has a "Spring 2012" release: http://www.goodman-games.com/5070preview.html We can narrow that down some. Note that the game itself and the first 4 modules have...

It's better than that: It's 65 days by my count. Remember that Feb. 29 is Day Zero, not "one more day to go!".

I think the time is going by fast. Basically one-third of the countdown has already passed!
I imagine Joseph thinks that the time is going by REALLY fast.

Re: Countdown Thread
72 more days.
The very first time I saw D&D being played was at the toy store where I went to make my first D&D purchase in the latter half of 1980. A teenage boy rolled the dice and said he rolled a 72. "What the...? How can you roll a 72 on those weird little dice?" I wondered.

I'm with Finarvyn. I'd consider buying a set of dice with these qualities:
1. inked
2. opaque
3. precision
4. all 14 dice
5. whatever color(s)--I don't care if they are matching color or not.
6. $30 or less

Re: One thing I would like to see...
Sutherland's and Trampier's illustrations in S1: Tomb of Horrors are worth far more than boring word-walls. I have little patience and no time for pointless RPG art of the "look at the adventurers posing" type. Instead, RPG art should illustrate weird and unusual places, things, and monste...

Sounds promising!
Other than having DCC RPG stats, what makes these monsters special over against the thousands of D&D monsters found in the various published D&D monster books?

Re: Coming Soon: Attack of the Frawgs! By Thick Skull Advent
I'm happy to see this module--the first announced 3rd-party DDC RPG module--scheduled for release in March. My question: How is this module different than the countless D&D modules that have been published over the last 4 decades? Other than using DDC RPG mechanics, what makes Attack of the Fraw...

Re: Doug's next cover
Forgive a possibly stupid question: Can pre-orders be done only directly through Goodman Games, or can they also be done through Noble Knight (for example)? I ask because I have some old RPG stuff I plan on sending to Noble Knight for credit, and it would be easiest for me to purchase the DDC RPG wi...

Re: Countdown Thread
Now we're on day 88. I graduated from high school in '88.
I think 1977-1983 represents a golden time for sci-fi/fantasy movies:
the original Star Wars trilogy
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Alien
E. T.
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
etc.
