Goodman Games: Your Cure for the 4e Blues. :D I approve the idea. Hell yeah. It's a little odd on my part, because if anything, I'm usually in favor of giving a character more to do and turning up the power knob. A lot of PrCs in the official supplements get on my nerves, because they're supposed t...

well, goodman games IS the home of the zero level adventure, so i'm not too worried. if anyone comes up with a good toned down version, i have faith that it will be our boys. Goodman Games: Your Cure for the 4e Blues. :D I approve the idea. Except my cure will probably involve sticking with 3.5. If...

Sure, they can have a hive-city in the mountains. Although thri-kreen strike me as more the nomadic tribes sort than the city-hive builders. Traditional dromites seem better suited for that angle. My logic is they must have some place that's important to them, and, well, imagine the architecture. F...

Looking over psionics due to the Firefly debate going on, I'd have to say it'd be fun to play with: -Psychic Warrior -Elocator -Dromites I'll definitely keep these in mind the next time I'm offered a game to play in... If you want to go dromite, you could use the latest explanation from Psionics in...

Oh wow. Thri-kreen megamonks can definitely do a lot. It doesn't get broken until you throw in some warblade levels focusing on Tiger Claw maneuvers. It's from Tome of Battle, basically, you get a bunch of martial arts maneuvers that you kind of use like spells, but they're all for melee. The Tiger...

Wait, where are these multiplications coming from? In your other post, you said dungeonomicon divided DCs. Regardless... fun! Dividing the DC has just about the same effect as multiplying your check in the case of Jump, in which your check is the number of horizontal feet you can cover. I...

Its is me indeed, Oaksoul Omni. Jumping over a mech, never thought of that haha. Imagine their faces... :D More bonus-i to jumping can be found in both Dungeonscape (no doubling of DC for standing long, then standing high jump) and Savage Species (if you still use it) in the form of the Mighty Leap...

Howdy Omni! I'm not sure what use the jump could be other than movement, and as a massive aid in scouting. But I like the idea of a 'kreen attaching itself to a mech, stowing away until it gets whatever information it is looking for. After all, with 4 claws and massively powerful legs, sticking one...

Thanks Eric. I've been posting/lurking on Enworld for years now, and I haven't found a better place for 4E information. I've been reading many of the reviews there. I was just looking for a review from the perspective of a Goodman Games forumite as well. As the reviews come out, many a favorable, w...

Oh, this is slightly off-topic, but since this is your thread, I might as well tell you I enjoyed the Psionics in Dragonmech thread. Because, you know, love Psionics and would like to see them done justice in Dragonmech and all that. Especially the Thri-keen (who are one of the races I aspire to pla...

Yeah, the being able to psychic strike mindless stuff is one of the key features of the class - very specifically, it still gives you a little something to do outside of mech battles. Think of it as one of a series of attempts to un-nerf the soulknife. Give me a little time, and I think I'll be int...

Quite interesting. It does give some application to a Soulknife. I especially like being able to use the Psychic Strike on non-mindless stuff. Really, it's sad that the Soulknife, as written, is so...lacking. Psychic Strike is nice, and once you've gotten up in levels, the money you save on a weapon...

Heh. I completely missed that one! My bad. But honestly, do you know any melee-oriented character who would be happy settling for 1d6 base damage? Haha I don't! While I like deep impact, you may be right concerning re-focusing in melee. Completely forgot Under the Skin, which fits so perfectly (all...

Revised Necromancer Handbook
I am in awe. Some research dug up another bit of Frank and K work--The Revised Necromancer Handbook, which is pretty much a pros vs. cons combined with "How-to" for necromancers. As per usual with Frank and K, it's got a certain style. http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=599129&...

What about monsters? At the very least some lunar dragons would be interesting. Yep, we're already on that too! If you are already working on what we think of, then I'd just like to say it's a pretty good indication that the Goodman Games crew is on top of things and you should be turning out a coo...

Pretty cool! I've always felt the elves do have a quite nearly ready-made line of adventures in Dragonmech. One game I was in used two parties living in an animated mech. One party was for dealing with mechs, and the other crew was around for some dungeoneering. The old elf in charge of the very, ve...

Tome of Fiends PrCs
[Poster's note: These are from the Tome of Fiends, and therefore have a definite planar flavor. Still, they're interesting.] Hellwalker "What terrors do you think I have not already seen?" Life in the Lower Planes is generally nasty, brutish, and short, and it is only the strongest survive...

River looks good, Ken. Never thought of Detect Hostile Intent , but that one really is perfect for her. Don't think Body Adjustment fits, though. How about Escape Detection ? And for her artificial parts, may I suggest either swapping one of the damage bonuses for the improvement to unarmed damage ...

Okay, the jury is currently working on what you can use steampowers for, but the initial impression is that they're underpowered compared to magic; if used creatively they can be used to overcome nonmagic people, but that's it. I'll try to get them to lay down some examples, but it might help if I h...

The Wish Economy
The Economicon: Making Sense of the Gold Standard: "100 pounds of gold for a house? How does anyone make rent without a wheelbarrow?" Since time immemorial, D&D has used the "gold piece" as its primary currency. It is apparently a chunk of reasonably pure gold of vaguely sta...
