collection of gritty short scenarios

I'd like to see a collection in one book of gritty one or two night adventures that is system neutral and would work in 5e. Goodman does gritty best.

Any follow up to the excellent death dealer planned?

Re: GENCON 2010 open gaming

That's too bad. Erin and I were hypothesizing all the good things that might be happening that would make you miss gencon. I hope it's one of those.

Very nice job Harley. As everyone knows, I don't like anything and I would say this is top 3 4e products from anyone.

Re: Seeking GM in St. Louis

A little more about our group. We are looking for a GM and potentially another player to fill 2 recently vacated slots. We are 30-39, two women and 3 men, all have been playing 10+ years, and 2 have played since 1e. We are in west county and/or St. Charles. We are 20% role playing and 80% tactical a...

Seeking GM in St. Louis

Are you a GM? Are you in St. Louis? We have a group that is looking for a mature alternate GM for Friday night 4e game. We have a really great group. Please PM me to discuss.

That's a great use of skill challenge, IMO.

Re: Level Up

I think I will be implementing a combination of the two: You can learn about an items primary power by studying it, but some items do not show as magical, some have secondary powers that only are revealed through ritual or use, and some have masked powers that can only be revealed by a ritual.

Re: Level Up

No identify means that you can't have cursed items. It means you cannot add items with secret unlocakble powers easily. You cant add evil intelligent items. The list goes on. Mostly plot points. I agree, from a gameflow standpoint the RAW is better, but from a story and roleplaying standpoint, ident...

Re: Level Up

In general, thinking about the 4e economy, especially ritual and alchemy cost, gives me a migraine. That's the last of the simulationist in me. I really like adding Identify back into the mix. I think I'll add that to my game soon. As far as Critical Hits / Bloodied, I think this really slows the ga...

Goodman producing Call of Cthulhu

Wow, I heard the rumors that GG was producing for CoC, and I am happy to hear that its true. We were dicussing at Gencon that all of the veteran gms for the DCC tournament were also CoC Gm's. I for one would love to subvert the spirit of the oft troubled Cthulhu Masters tournament and bring it over ...

Re: DCC Tournament Year Five

Is the tournament module released for purchase every year? I didn't have time to play, or even watch but I'd like to run my players through it for kicks. Yes. The past 4 years are on sale now at 50% off also. It's Crypt of the Devil Lich (13), Vault of the Dragon Kings (30), Palace in the Wastes (4...

Re: DCC Tourney 08

If the teams I ran (Dollar Bills, Friday Fish in a Barrel, and Shenanigans) want to PM me I can answer questions about what they did right, and wrong. What I can say is I didn't pull a single punch and they all kicked ass. I had a great time and running for enthusiastic players makes a big differenc...

Re: GenCon - Judges game

Yeah, we were talking on the last day how cool it would be for a few of the judges to just prep 5 rooms of something to play episodically. Then you can just have notes on what to add based on the swarm of players that forms. I think thats the way to go at a con. Everyone is tired from running dcc al...

Re: DCC Tournament Year Five

Ah, so it is. Thanks for that. :) This is my first DCC Tournament but I was guessing they gimped the characters on purpose. They're not what most players would call an optimal build. ;) Welcome to the tourney and good luck! Yes, they each have their own problems. As playtesters we groan every time ...

Having read all three rounds, I think "Ow, stop stabbing me! Ow, it hurts!" might be a good title.

Should I present my halflings vs. alley cats misdirection again this year? 4e alley cats are even more deadly!

Any guesses from the Oracle Fathead for this year?
