Re: Supporting multiple systems within the DCC's

Joe I really support this idea. I play in two groups, one switched to 4e and the other stayed with 3.5ed. The 4e group have found the game very repetitive and boring and encounters at medium to high level seem to take a bloomin age. To cut a long story short, we have decided to switch to Pathfinder....

Off Topic - New 3D Terrain Pictures

All Apologies for this not being DCC related, but a couple of months ago I was asked to post some pix of some 3D terrain projects (which I did) and they genereated some interest and comment. At the time I promised to post additional pix of my latest creation, which involved a trip to Hell for my par...

Re: 4E Aereth and Punjar

Astrocat I am currently using Aereth to run both 3.5 ed and 4e games in. I haven't bothered too much about how the new races fit in (I know that Tieflings and Dragonborn aren't mentioned in the Gazeteer, but they are not explicitely excluded either) and neither have the players. I did need to do som...

Re: DCC Ethos

Those beat to tatters the cardboard and hot glue rooms I made for White Plume Mountain... Thanks again. These builds do take time, but it's amazing how a few simple buildings or walls can help the experience. Of course, for those who have more money than time, there is always Dwarven Forge :e...

Re: DCC Ethos

I'm a little late to this topic. The first half was interesting, but the second sub subject was way cool. Your group is very lucky to have you. That is way more effort than anyone has ever put into running a game I've ever played in. Your pictures look great. Even your first effort looks good. I th...

Re: New DCCs Announced

We got through Talon Pass ok. That was a fun module, but yeah it was pretty challenging. I took out all of the zombies at the beginning with my wizard, it was sweet. It was the Kobold Hall in the back of the DMG where we got wiped out by the young white dragon at the end. We've ran a few of the Dun...

Re: New DCCs Announced

If you really want to play and can't wait for higher level DCC's, there are plenty of great higher level adventures here: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/duarch/ad Well, scratch all of the above. I have been running my group through the free rpg day WoTC module "Treasure of Talon Pass" (fo...

I almost always use 200 gsm cardstock (which I am 99% sure equates to 110lb in the US).

Re: DCC Ethos

Hi jack away! Awesome pics! Who do you buy your buildings from? I buy most of mine from Fat Dragon Games, who has stuff in an upcoming DCC, and some stuff from World Werks. Your castle and town looks like World Werks stuff. Hi Treebore All of the Castle PDFs came from Worldworks Games (the CastleWo...

Re: DCC Ethos

My next Terrain Project was much simpler. Again cardstock based (yes, that castle was built entirely from paper !!), this time it was a pretty straightforward sewer system. Simple, but rather effective I found. http://www3.mediafire.com/imgbnc.php/ca79f6a64bd6e020c78960c7312e8f046g.jpg http://www4.m...

Re: DCC Ethos

OK, if you're bored of the castle by now, you might want to skip this post (there will be photos of a sewer complex, a dragon's lair and some dwarven forge layouts coming one day soon). Here are the "in-game" photos of the castle from a dungeon I ran earlier this year. It was a whole weekend job (15...

WOW! My mind has been boggled. I can only imagine the time you placed into making these show pieces and the depth you guys play at. Wow Frank, that's impressive detective work! Hey, while you're at it, would you also be able to tell me where I left my car keys? Re: DCC Ethos

My next project was a tad more ambitious then the village - a full on castle. Unlike the village, the castle has an exterior AND an interior and it took a serious amount of effort to build. The shots below are low res, but they do a good job of showing the advance between the village and this. I'll ...

:) That change took place way before 4E ... Isle of the Sea Drake is for 1st level parties (although like all DCCs, it's pretty easy to scale upwards), but it takes place near Voltiguer in the Criestine colonies near Xulmec territory. If you want more Xulmec, there's more coming. Adrian Thanks for that. Actually, my copy of Isle of the Sea D...

Heh. Ugh. Sounds like it time for a 4E DCC world, to me! //H Sorry Harley, it was a low blow. I've modified the population of Ternyziem to 1/10th of that in the campaign I am running. WRT a 4e Gazeteer, I am torn. Whilst I would love to see a Gazeteer Mk II more than anything, I would like it to of...

Re: DCC #35: Gazetteer of the Known Realms

frank5471uk , the Northlands, Southlands*, and Lostlands aren't actually universally acknowledged, sovereign regions with specific boundaries. Most boundaries between legitimate kingdoms, baronies, and principalities are constantly contested as is. *For example, the Southlands are just what the Nor...
