Re: Needed: A pronunciation guide for #43, Curse of the Barr

I am honoured that you think I know how to pronounce all of the different words I use when writing these things :D As a general guide most of the words are Anishnabe (Ojibwa) indian or Blackfoot Plains Cree, and they did not have a written language so the English spelling of the words is very phonet...

Re: Barroom Ballads

I asked Russ Brown and here is his reply:

"No Easter Eggs in the ballads I wrote. They're just original ramblings.
The drinking bits and slamming mugs in Denan's arm are loosely based on
what happens when they play Wild Rover in British pubs."

Re: Barroom Ballads

That is awesome! I put a lot of easter eggs in my writing and love it when someone gets one! I based Wyvern Riding on a 19th century Canadian stevedore work song... of unknown origin... I even put the name of the band to make the song popular in the 90's in the body of the lyrics. I will check with ...

Vulgar fey interest me, you guys mention several different locations are they all outdoors? Also what types of creatures are there besides the mentioned fey types and my final question (for now) how adaptable is this module to C&C? I'm thinking this could be a fun theme if the adventure takes p...

There are definitely Scandinavian influences in the vulgar fey creatures in the module... I also wanted to do some work with Aboriginal North American Indian culture - a historic people that are pretty neglected in D&D... also that helped me to make a DCC module that does have a role for the ran...

Re: dealing with the slime

WRT the alchemost (ooze critter), our initial plan was to lure it out into the entry chamber, then circle around and get past it, locking it behind us. However, we ended up just luring it out of its lair, then hitting it from both sides; I think it did hit us once or twice before we dropped it. In ...

Oopps... Had I known that DCC was going to create a pantheon of official gods i would have chosen differently. I really like the research that goes into the creation of a module - I like to choose a different historical inspiration for my modules. In The Isle of Faroe i looked to Scandinavian roots....

Re: Mssing creature stats

I'm sure I can extrapolate the correct numbers myself, but I'd rather get the 'official' word just to be safe. It seems that in DCC32, the stats for the Saena Tree were misprinted. Specifically, in the stat block, the saves are listed as follows: Str 30, Dex 1, etc. Ability scores rather than savin...

"The Golden Palace of Zahadran" of course... it has Azi Dahaka - storm demon of unmaking right there on the cover! Plus new demons or deva as the persians refer to them.

I am of course not the most unbiased person to ask this question...
