Re: summon / conjure elemental
I took a quick look at Ithha, Prince of Elemental Wind on page 356. The Invoke Patron results 30-31 and 32+ allows the caster to summon elementals. Ithha is the Prince of Elemental Wind, but using this table, you could DIY other elemental lord type patrons, or DIY summon elementals as Dogard suggest...

Re: Any chance on making some low fantasy adventures?
The Lankhmar campaign set is very faithful to Leiber's stories. So if those match what you want from your game, I'd say that boxed set is the one to go with... I agree 10%. Lahnmar is pretty much "low fantasy" from the get-go and it's a fun set of rules as well. Give it a look! I remember...

In general, I agree that less challenging encounters should equal less XP, but I don't correlate more PCs equals less challenging, since I will add/subtract #appearing based on #party and module recommendations.

I'd love comments on my blog ... but when I open it up, I get flooded with spam comments ... But it's been a while. Comments are now open. :) Archade, your blog is an incredible resource for DCC! I am currently going through your extensive Bestiary and articles. I, and I suspect many other DCC fans...

Re: New to OSR and DCC. Changes to the in-game religion system for duty and freedom of conscience.
Re-reading your specific OP. I think instead of having clerics worship different gods, you can of course let them all worship the same god, but maybe they represent different sects of the religion or aspects of that god, or have patron saints that they are clerics of under the umbrella of that god....

I say no.
Longswords and katanas are two different named weapons, although the katana functions as a longsword. If a luck weapon said "katana" they'd get the benefit from using a katana, but not a longsword.

Re: a question about Sailors on the Starless Sea
Those questions are best answered by yourself and your players. How much time do you have to prep? Do a gradual mix of both scenarios perhaps? Send ever increasing waves of enemies at the PC's village (like "Temple Siege" Free DCC RPG 2021 Adventure Pack) until you send the Big Guy and a v...

Re: a question about Sailors on the Starless Sea
If the PCs went back to the village to regroup, then the Chaos Lord just might cometh as the worst possible scenario, and all the problems associated with that outcome. The choice is up to the players. They either tighten their belts and strap up the loins and accept what is right in front of them a...

I work nights, so when the email came in to tell me that this KS went live, I was either working or asleep. When I checked my email the next day and able to join the KS and back it, my backer number was quite high: 2,809 out of 2,958. I can't tell if the KS is still open or not. Sorry I can'...

Mini Review Time! I did purchase these (all 4 of them - or 5? Am I missing one???), along with Steel & Fury physical copy and some other PDFs. All worthy purchases from DriveThru! Your Dungeon Crawl Companion series is good, bite-sized commentary and supplemental game info that add very useable ...

If only there was a way to re-cover the scratched off surfaces and let the players re-use them as if brand new.
If it were me as Judge, I'd just take them and re-purpose them as NPCs or foes, scratching off the rest of the sheets.

Re: Mighty Deeds Of Arms and other classes
While I would want my Thief, Elf & Halfling players attempt a Deed, I have to respect the decision that Deeds are the Warrior's specialty - it's their special ability, whereas the other classes have their own special abilities.
They can attempt a Deed but cause no damage if successful.

Sooooooo much content here! I have the PDF, but I really want a printed copy of these volumes (separately) to better handle all the page flipping.

"At that time, the Nephilim appeared on earth, after the sons of heaven had intercourse with the daughters of man, who bore them sons. They were the heroes of old, the men of renown." - Genesis 6:4 Seems like a Time of Legends worthy of chronicling in the annals of tabletop games to me! 8...

I've heard of the scratch off character sheets, but I was skeptical of their utility from the beginning, although a work-mate who is interested in starting DCC saw them online and wants to get them. We enjoyed using them immensely. I prompted players to reveal their ability scores the first time th...

Hi, first post here 🙂 I picked up DCC a couple of months ago and I can't wait to play it. We're currently playing Goodman Games' 5E conversion of Isle of Dread . I expect to run my first funnel in July or August. Right now I'm rereading through the class descriptions, specifically the class faction...

Follow up on Temple Siege: The leader of the 2nd wave, Jimji the Shadow has spell-like powers (Hypnotic Command and Unbar Portal) that you have to use as written, as I could not find Hypnotic Command listed as a wizard or clerical spell in the DCC core rulebook. I did not look up Unbar Portal, as th...

My first DCC game (and funnel!) was also Beneath the Well of Brass! If all my players could get one or the other apps to work at the same time, I'd prefer to run online games using roll20 or Fantasy Grounds for maps & visual aids, including text & dice rolls, and discord for voice, although I guess that discord also has dice rolling bots, but I've never used...

In a Genesis antediluvian world, campaign as you suggest above, treat the Lawful and some Neutral patrons as angelic beings that dispense wisdom and miracles on behalf of the Holy Trinity (still monotheist), and the rest of the Neutral and all Chaotic patrons as demons for the villains. More Zoroast...

Re: Combining the best of Starless Sea and Savage Kings?
Good game report! It's a good thing you had an alternate village/town ready to play. Myself, I don't restrict character movement to only their village or valley as the DCC core rules suggest. I assume that there are clusters of farmsteads in rural areas and villages are commonly spaced out to be a d...
