Re: Frozen in Time naming ceremony

That's a cool idea! I do something somewhat similar. In funnel games, I tell players to give their characters easy names once they start attacking or doing something. Like Bob, Joey or Kevin. The characters that survive get to add a suffix depending on what they did during the game. For example: Kev...

Re: mighty deed disadvantage

You are correct, there is no disadvantage to declaring a Deed. That being said, I did create a disadvantage when writing https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/147952/Steel-and-Fury-DCC called a Mighty Fumble. Simply put, when you roll a 1 on the Deed die and a 1 on your attack roll something spectac...

Greenwood of the Fey Sovereign (Review)

*** Spoiler alert. *** Here's a little review of the Greenwood of the Fey Sovereign adventure by Studio 9 . I said review but I don't really want to criticize a very original and fun adventure that somebody has put a lot of time and love into. But I do want to give new Judges (such as me) a heads u...

Re: Secrets of the World Harvesters - DCC KS- ends 4.4.2019

I backed this Kickstarter and it is super cool! The only issue I have is that, per page 14, " The characters should be residents of the village of Halbrinks, with an emotional attachment to the village and its inhabitants. They should be level 1, having survived a funnel (or freshly generated), and ...

Re: The Last Will and Testament of Obediah Felkner - Kicksta

I backed this and look forward to playing it with Dark Trails RPG. Since I'm from Canada I only backed it at the 6$ level for a PDF copy and will print and bind it locally. Which is fine because it's what I do with all my DCC adventures. Shipping fee is never worth it. I really hope it makes it to s...

Re: Is there a "GDQ" equivalent for DCC?

At first I gave them 4 PCs each (8 total), thinking that they could supplement their numbers as they rescued prisoners, but two were killed in the first encounter and the rest went down in the first big fight against the beastmen. Lesson learned. We threw in more PCs to finish the fight as straggle...

Re: a question about Sailors on the Starless Sea

In theory, the effigy is supposed to be destroyed because the Shaman throws it into the pit, yada, yada, yada and it transform into the Chaos Lord. That being said, all sorts of stuff can happen so it's no surprise that your players ended up with the effigy of the Chaos Lord. To be fair, during my g...

Re: DCC and Aereth.

I agree with Ozerulz and herecomethejudge. What I hate about FR is that there's sooo much history, that I'm scared to change/add or delete anything in case it interferes with a future adventure. The odd thing is, I also feel the need to always add the location of an adventure on the map. It's just c...

Re: Review: Doom of the Savage Kings

I'm currently running the Doom of the Savage Kings. We're currently at 2 sessions and I should complete the module in the 3rd session (I promise to edit my post and add upcoming information once completed). I was really lucky to have 6 players with great synergy for the first session and then 5 duri...
