Re: Sellswords of Punjar, Cutpurse Alley 3D Build (with pics!)

Over the gate: https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4323/35972238736_4bcfff0b36_c.jpg I recently picked up Sellswords of Punjar to train a new group of 4e players. I don't have a very good visual imagination, so I've become a papercraft guy (I hang out over at Cardboard-Warriors.proboards.com mostly.) Ev...

Re: Remembering WFF

I was rummaging through some old boxes and happened to find my stack of WFF modules, so I had to sit down and reread some of that stuff. It's too bad that WFF wasn't promoted more as a "new" RPG system, because I think that those were some of the best d20 modules that I can recall from th...

Re: Would anyone here be interested in a Trump themed module

It's a generally bad thing to bring religion or politics into a rpg endeavor. With politics you are bound to anger 50% of the board population with targeting either candidate. Everyone always assumes most people have their views and are often unhappily shocked when at least half of any population g...

Re: The Goodman Games Forums Are Closing

Also, FWIW, Joseph, closing the forums will be a huge advertising loss for DCC and GG. In these forums are tons of text references to module titles which still direct people to learn more about the world of DCC RPG, even if the forums aren't as active as they used to be with new posts. Even this thr...

Re: Release Date for Gongfarmer's Almanac 2021?

Looks like they ended up making a few volumes of the 2021 GFA, but a full-year compendium is MIA, and I didn't see anything for 2022 and beyond. FWIW I did inquire and sign up a few times, but I never heard back. The site seems be down now, and I'm not sure if the 2021 edition downloads were up the ...

Re: The Goodman Games Forums Are Closing

Sad that the forums here are closing. I don't do discord, so I will miss that part of the GG community. Same. Discord is kind of a necessary evil to have as a lot of my contacts are on it, but I think visually that servers, in general, are hard-to-follow messes and will not be remembered favorably ...

Re: The Goodman Games Forums Are Closing

Just to add regarding the Wayback Machine, my original list of 1200 forum links turned up only 3 "First Archives" on the last run and was under 100 each time before that (down from 10K-12K on the first few runs), so I'm pretty sure that most of it has been crawled, again excluding some of ...

Re: The Goodman Games Forums Are Closing

It might actually be possible for someone to reach out to people working for Wayback Machine and request they archive the entire forums, but I don't even know if that is a service they offer. (And, even if it is a service they offer, that sort of thing won't happen from folks hoping that someone el...

...and I've already found a problem. It appears that, when there are multiple pages showing as 1 2 3 4 5 ... 14, it did not grab pages 6-13. I'm going to need to see how to fix that. So, everything isn't archived yet. Back to the drawing board. Sounds like it's not going deeply enough into the link...

Re: The Goodman Games Forums Are Closing

Would it be possible for these forum boards to make their way to the Wayback Machine located at http://web.archive.org/ ? A lot of the older stuff is backed up there already, and I'm submitting some extra URLs now to try to fill in more of the gaps. Hopefully, the forums will stay open for another ...

21 Crossbow Salute to the Goodman Games Fan Forums

They say that you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone, and they also say that all good things must come to an end, so I guess that we all must eventually know what good things we've got...or something. I'm sad to see the GG forums go but also thankful that they existed as, like the DCC RPG its...

Re: Number of spells

It's option B: Wizards are limited to a certain number of memorizable spells only, depending on level.

It's a very different system of magic than you find in D&D. Instead of getting more "spell slots" to be used per day at a new XP level, in DCC, you know that many more spells, total.

Re: Can Clerics Reverse Spells?

As always, it's up to you, and the rulebook provides some guidelines for this, but one thing I want to add for your consideration is the old D&D way of doing it, which is that for chaotic clerics (anti-clerics), some of the spells were reversed by default, and they could only learn the "evi...

Where to Print a Self-Published OSR Module?

Hi all, I have an OSR module I've been working on, and I'm thinking of publishing it in digital/PDF form as well as print (basic B&W with glossy cover, no collectible gold foil or anything). Can anyone give some leads on where to get the physical modules printed and what typical costs per unit m...

Re: Wizards and Padded Armor

So correct me if I'm wrong: Under armor, it says that the check penalty applies to spell checks for Wizards, but since padded armor doesn't have a penalty, that means Wizards can wear it with no problems. Right? Correct, if there's no check to the armor, then there's no check to be applied to the s...
