Re: Planar Travel...Original Ideas?

The plane of concordant opposition is the hub of the Great Cosmic Wheel, the grand planar crossroads wherein which all worlds meet. Portals to and denizens from nearly any plane can be found here, even those diametrically opposed to each other. This is possible in part due to the fact that as one a...

Re: Planar Travel...Original Ideas?

I've been on this very path since running Intrigue at the Court of Chaos . Opposed to the structured, well-defined wheel cosmology of other systems, I prefer a looser system more fitting DCC rules. I think of amorphous planes that differ by degrees, influenced inwardly by the will ruling powers and...

Re: DCC Cthulhu Bestiary

Isn't there supposed to be a .PDF of DCC stats for Mythos creatures coming out from the last Age Of Cthulhu KS? There is... Not sure what the status on that is, though... Building it... Can't wait! Some day, when the Stars are Right, I'm going to run a DCC campaign in a fantasy world whose pantheon...

I dig this idea. Other significant times, like solstices or "When the Stars are Right..." could also apply.

Journey to the Center of Aereth. Love it.

Just got the PDF of "Journey to the Center of Aereth" and "The Lost City of Barako." So far the adventures and story material are awesome. The potential open-ended stuff going on in depths of the earth touched on by this stuff is great. I'm going to somehow fit this in with the S...

Just started Jack Vance's Dying Earth

It amazes me I grew up with the old DM's guide in the early 80's and never bothered with the suggested Appendix N reading at the back. Probably too young to appreciate it. I was reading Dragonlance novels and Conan comics back then anyways. I'm loving Dying Earth. It's well written, I kind of feel l...

Future Release Hints?

Any plans on future boxed sets, modules, etc? I really dig this game and plan to start Chained Coffin soon, most likely Purple Planet late 2017. Has the Lankhmar set already been released? I see individual products for it, but no boxed set? What else is in the works? DCC is the best! ---A minion of ...

Re: Would anyone here be interested in a Trump themed module

I enjoy RPG's and gaming in general due to the escapism. ;) Not having to think about politics/religion, especially with the last election, is something I kind of need if you catch my drift. My current gaming group has six, sometimes seven members. Two of them are very "left leaning", thre...

MARYYN-THEL The verdant woodland realms called Maryyn-Thel are eldritch hunting grounds of some nameless and forgotten race of which little is known. Vast rolling hills and strange, torturous mountains carved from ancient rock jut into the crystalline, blue sky. Massive cedar-like trees and huge oa...

I'm also a lover of this class from a pure roleplaying POV. Also reminds me of the terrible risks involved with screwing around with higher powers like patrons/gods. There's a Lovecraft / Moorecock synthesis as well as other weird fantasy influences. The higher powers are fickle bastards toward lowl...

YOAWIEL (THE VELD OF ZESRA) This far realm is distant from known cosmology and is detailed in several Elven writings (The A'nsela Songs, The Cyclopedia of Longing and the earlier volume of the Cinder Scrolls currently held by the Shadow Elves.) There is some mention of it in the repulsive "Alm...

Planar Travel...Original Ideas?

I love the terrible reality of the cosmos, the war between Law and Chaos that is waged throughout time and space. I think a lot of the planar realities touched on by other games (OSR and otherwise) have always been well written and presented, but not really used a lot? I know a lot of cosmologies in...

I have the original PDF, and getting my mutated little mitts on this extended HB Version further solidifies my patron bond with Chaos. It's this year's Christmas present to myself.

I love the Chained Coffin boxed set. It's full of awesome, very creepy background material suitable for any campaign world. In all honesty I love this. I can see one of the peasants who survive a funnel adventure just happen to become a Murder Hobo. The guy mentioned running an entire party of Murder Hobos made me laugh. I'd love to hear how something that cool turns out!

Re: Getting started with DDC

I just got into this game. I've been an avid pen/paper and miniature wargamer since 1985. Inherited laundry basked of D&D from my dad's friend when I was a kid and got hooked! This is my favorite RPG of all time. There's enough space to create your own patrons, fluff, etc while the rules provide...
