House Rule: more than one Action Dice rolled to cast a single spell
I've been thinking about a house rule. Letting spell-casting classes roll more than one Action Dice and combining the results to cast a single spell. For example. A level 5 wizard has 1d20 + 1d14 for it's Action Dice. This house rule would let the wizard cast.. say... "Magic Missile" by ro...

Re: Earn Luck points
I don't think its specifically addressed in the rule book. I do let thief/halfling gain higher base luck scores in my games. I also allow them to permanantly burn a point of luck for a bigger luck bonus than they would get for burning luck temporarily.

Re: PLEASE - the Giants/Drow series neeeexxxxxttttt!
I'd imagine yes, but there might be bigger communities than here on this forum? I mean lets face it, there isn't exactly a lot of activity on here. G+ was very active for DCC, and while not exactly "the" place to go, the DCC RPG subreddit is also more active than here, but there's probably...

Heavy Metal RPG Podcast
The stars keep their nightly procession, moving towards their cosmic destiny. Blacker than night, the deafening silence of DCC RPG Podcasts became unbearable to the gods who slumber, their dreams tormented by the void of content. Seeds were planted in the minds of those touched by fate, and a new po...

Re: New stuff from Heavy Metal Adventures
I have a couple adventures I'm working on right now. It's just difficult to balance this company with my 40-50 hour job and being a father and husband. I am primarily interested in making the adventuring experience more fun with ways to streamline the gameplay experience or provide classes/rules tha...

Lulu is one place I have used before. I've only printed single books there myself, but you could be able to check it yourself to see how much a bigger run might be.

Re: On the Subject of XP and multiple characters in DCC
I've been toying with the idea of XP dice per encounter myself, maybe like.. 1d6 per encounter instead of the "per book" 0-4 XP. Different experiences/events have different effects on what people take and learn from them. But yeah, the way DCC is written I would still give the same XP per ...

Re: Will we see more TSR Classics instead of Judge's Guild?
My own personal willingness to buy the OAR series so far has been if its just 1 book, or multiple books, I'm personally less interested in the ones where its more than one book.

DCC Version of Benchleydale?
So I was listening ot "this ol' dungeon" podcast and they had a guest Tim Connolly. I guess he set up a private facebook group/community that is invite only, and over the years they've developed an AD&D 1st edition series of maps/setting information and basically a world they share and...

This random pantheon generator has some ideas for lay on hands effects. https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/396701/Dungeon-Crawl-Companion-5-Random-Pantheon-Generator It doesn't lay out any specific gods but it could jump start your own thinking/ideas on how you might want to flesh out different/ne...

Re: PLEASE - the Giants/Drow series neeeexxxxxttttt!
There is one advantage, I personally would not purchase any WoTC adventures at this time in my life, but I would still purchase GG adventures, and I'm sure many other people are like this. Of course, if GG wants to try and sell some stuff to people who might mainly buy WoTC but also consider other p...

Re: Will we see more TSR Classics instead of Judge's Guild?
Growing up I never even knew about JG. I'm willing to give them a look over, but I don't have like.. an excitement of them being republished like some people do. I can see why some people would want them to be published though so I think its alright. Ultimately the sales on these will determine if t...

Re: Death Checks - Halflings and Thieves
I run it that a halfling can burn luck to add or subtract 2 points from any dice they roll for their character, 1 point for dice rolled by other characters.
And that the thief luck die can be rolled to add or subtract from any dice rolled by the thief.

Re: New to OSR and DCC. Changes to the in-game religion system for duty and freedom of conscience.
Re-reading your specific OP. I think instead of having clerics worship different gods, you can of course let them all worship the same god, but maybe they represent different sects of the religion or aspects of that god, or have patron saints that they are clerics of under the umbrella of that god. ...

Re: Frozen In Time Q *Minor Spoiler*
This may be a disappointment, but it could also be a good thing, for instance, an unlucky warrior who happened to pick longsword for their "unlucky" weapon would thus not be penalized for using the Katana.

Re: New to OSR and DCC. Changes to the in-game religion system for duty and freedom of conscience.
I think at this point if any further discussion is to be had, it should be around the use of religion/gods in the context of the game. I personally kind of agree with a general idea that something similar to the catholic "patron saint" idea would be more applicable to a campaign world that...

Well, I wanted to try and register for any event, but I won't be able to, maybe I'll see some people at a Battletech event or AD&D/ OD&D event at origins, but I won't be able to make it to any DCC events.

Re: What's the deal with 32+ Sleep?
The only important part of the spell is that it effects every creature, birds, insects, animals, plants, friendly and unfriendly creatures. Creatures of 4HD or less receive no save against it. It effects everything in 500 yards And the sleep will not be disturbed unless some specific condition occur...
