Hmm. That's a very good point I hadn't considered. I'm still getting used to this whole "marketing savvy" thing.

"Them's Monsters!" -- Kickstarter
Q: What the heck are those? A: Them's Monsters! Hey Crawlers. I just launched the Kickstarter for my new zine, Them's Monsters! , a collection of beasties and critters for DCC. It's a single-color zine-sized book, probably about 28 pages, written and fully illustrated by my, Josh Burnett. In additi...

KS: Leopard Women of Venus
Hey crawlers! We just launched a Kickstarter for Leopard Women of Venus , a feverish sci-fi setting for DCC inspired by the works of Golden Age cartoonist Fletcher Hanks. The book will contain new monsters, new patrons (like Stardust and Fantomah), the Leopard Woman class, two adventures (funnel and...

Re: Enlarge is OP, tell me why not!!!
When I ran Sailors on the Starless Sea, our wizard spell-burned 20 points and cast Enlarge on our dwarf. They were able to defeat the Chaos Leviathan this way.
I say it's just powerful enough!
*(I let my players level-up their survivors half-way through the adventure.)

Re: Zines print run size
It's my first zine, but for Crepuscular #1, I went through my first print run of 30 pretty quickly. I did a second print run of 25, and I still have several left.

Re: Patron Quests
I know the go-to answer for a lot of DCC stuff is "whatever you want," but in this instance, it really is "however intense you want to make it." Patrons are inscrutable and fickle beings who rarely explain their motivations. They are perfect default quest-givers, good for any adv...

Re: Missile Fire Attacks and Damage
One of the rules changes I liked best in 5th Edition (and some OSR projects, specifically Kevin Crawford's, before that) was letting a high Dex/Agi add to damage on ranged attacks. I felt it made playing an archer character more viable. Adding Agility bonus to missile damage is a house rule I use fo...

Re: Level 0 questions
What Davethelost said. You play all your zeroes at once. Seems like most GMs have the players use the best initiative in their group of zeroes, but I've also seen some GMs use the worst. I once made the mistake of having each player track their zeores' initiatives individually. That was an epic mess...

Re: D&D Rules Cyclopedia Print on Demand
Oh man, I bought an old copy of the RC about 8 years ago at Con on the Cob. $10 in pristine condition. There's no way the POD version can be anywhere near the same quality. I swear the binding on the original RC could stop a rampaging owlbear.

So after letting this sit for far too long, I finally got around to cobbling together the rest of Blorgamorg's spells (Gencon, again, is great for kickstarting the creative drive). "Love Dart" is the Chthonic Snail's 3rd level spell. I'd welcome any feedback. https://drive.google.com/file/...

If it were me, I'd maybe give the PC a bump on the Dice Chain for having the proper tools. Let them make the subsequent STR check with a d23.

Re: Game feels incomplete
Unfortunately I'm inclined to agree. The book feels incomplete, and I'm disappointed because I really want to totally love MCC. As a supplement to DCC, the book is great. As a stand-alone-I-have-never-played-DCC game, it's missing a lot of core information. (How to do skill rolls, basic equipment li...
