Just finished painting my DCCRPG referee's screen (pics)

Tried to keep it nice and lurid, in the spirit of the rules! The two demons on the front were both rolled up using Appendix D in the 1st edition Dungeon Master's Guide, always gives pleasingly twisted results. Can anyone suggest what the most useful DCCRPG tables for the interior would be? http://im...

Re: Difference between D&D dungeons and DCC dungeons

All good points. I think you will come to realize that it's really all about letting go of all the limiting structure that we've seen gradually creep into the D&D versions, and that has subtly influenced our mindset going into designing an adventure. I think a lot of my dungeon design has been s...

Difference between D&D dungeons and DCC dungeons

Hi all I've only read through four DCC adventures so far (The two you get in the core book, Starless Sea, Doom of the Savage Kings) but I'm getting the sense that the suggested adventure design differs a little from classic D&D and the retroclones. When I draw a dungeon for Labyrinth Lord, I'll ...

Re: Ideas for Corum style "planeswalking sandbox"?

Ok, so my 5 planes/spheres are going to be: 1. A temperate wilderness, mountainous type place. 2. A flooded world, with coral mountains and very little landmass above water 3. A harsh planetoid, possibly a moon of some kind. 4. ??? (Any ideas welcome) 5. HELL Players will wake up in Hell if they are...

Re: Sheep Men!! - Give your thoughts!

Cool stuff-these could be funny, but I think played in a different way could be frightening. Has anyone read Mervyn Peake's novella Boy In Darkness ? Essentially the young heir to a castle wanders far from home, and finds himself in a wasteland populated by three humanoid beings, The Ram, The Hyena ...

Re: Ideas for Corum style "planeswalking sandbox"?

Any series that feature - even for a short time - a castle made of jellified blood is definitely hitting the tone I think DCC aims for! maybe funnel jaunts them to some distant plane and they are now working their way back home? I'm thinking this might be the best way. I think each plane could have ...

Corum style"planeswalking sandbox"?(Now with mini-hexmaps!)

Hello all! I bought the DCC rulebook last week and immediately have been buzzing with ideas for a campaign. For some reason Moorcock is the author that comes to mind most prominently to me when reading the rules, and I love the fast-forward style of the original Corum trilogy, with protagonists endi...
