Character Class Reference Sheets
Ok, I can't remember if those were posted here somewhere, on the FB page or the Google page. I'm looking for those cool concise individual class pages that give the players a summary of the different DCC classes.

just to make it clear though, this particular table is modifying the attack die and not the damage die.

Re: Trying to get back into the game - a question and some i
Bilge... You've tapped into a couple of good points that I've had players bring up in our games. First off, the bare-bones game design of DCC almost begs to be built upon, just like the original D&D was back in the day. Especially if you are looking at a long-term campaign where players want to ...

Don't forget that the old E.C. Comics line is mentioned in the body of influences, if not in the actual list.

Re: Elfland?
Elfland is a dimensional incursion of an alien world into Earth. It looks like a 1970s psychedelic blacklight poster. The perpetual twilight of Elfland is illuminated by the giant glowing ulfire mushrooms whose light is scattered by the crystalline leaves of kaleidoscope trees. Elfish nobles clad i...

Re: Judge input on Paralysis Spell.
Yeah, that's how it reads in my book too, I just abbreviated what it was saying. It still doesnt implicitly state in results of 14 through 19 that the attack must succeed. It just says that an attack does damage and maybe paralysis. I'm relatively sure that the intent is that the attack must succeed...

Judge input on Paralysis Spell.
I thought I had seen this on another thread but I can't seem to find it in a search. Paralysis spell, page 264... Result 12-13 "cleric must make a normal attack on next round. If he succeeds..." Results 14 and above say nothing about making a successful attack. They just say "any atta...

Re: Excited New DCC Fan
Welcome Narpet, Sounds like you've caught the DCC fever. Within those pages are the slow deaths of ten-thousand wizards. Warn the magic user in your new group that this isn't like those mamby- pamby wizard spells the kids are used to casting. You'll find the folks here on this board helpful if you h...

DCC at Cincinnati Cincycon
If you're in the Cincinnati or northern KY area and would like to play some DCC, I'll be running Sat morning in a "Donuts and DCC" session. It's a great little convention that runs three days. Join me Sat March 4th. Get details here... http://cincycon.org/

Re: Demi-human classes - my house rules
This may be heresy, but as a judge, life is to short to make players play a character they don't want to play. If someone in my game rolls up a dwarf and they have the stats to back up being a great cleric, I let them be a dwarf cleric, or whatever else their stats incline them to. There are plenty ...

Re: Making Traps Fun
I think the best way to handle traps is either as its own encounter with more than one check to disarm it or as terrain threats in a combat encounter. Otherwise, it's just a HP tax that matters not a whit (although in DCC, downtime healing still runs at least a small risk for the cleric and so is no...

I see this Is your first post so welcome to the DCC community Jomacatoba96. This game seems to foster creativity in the best way that a RPG can. You'll find folks around here encourage judges to take the DCC rules and fill in the grey areas to suit your own style. Making spells that suit your game i...

Re: monster fumbles
Hmmmm.... I don't think there is a fumble table for monsters in the big book. All monsters are pretty unique so it would be a hard task to make a fumble table that work for a goblin, a slime, a harpy, a ghost, etc... There is a generic fumble table on page 80 that would work for any creature brandis...

Re: Defend the DCC RPG Wizard for me
I agree that the DCC wizard is a different animal. Comparing to D&D, it's really apples and oranges. It has taken a while for my young group to transition from the automatic "Gatling-gun" wizard of our 4E campaign to the erratic unpredictable nature of magic in DCC. Funny thing is, the...

Re: maps and fog of war
Since judging DCC, we've been mostly theatre of the mind and only occasionally will I sketch out a room layout on the grid. But before that, we were into minis big time so every session was mapped out. I drew out the dungeon or whatever and did as you did. I'd cut out black construction paper to cov...

Re: Starfall aka meteor swarm DCC style
I think that's really cool. Any suggestions would be subjective and according to tastes I guess. Seems like the manifestations are all kind of the same, but I guess if it's a star shower, it is what it is. One manifestation could be changed to debris from a falling satellite maybe. That could spice ...

Re: Is MCC going to slow down the production of DCC modules?
Good question. I would think that there would be a flurry of MCC modules at first because it's new and shiny, but then things will settle back down. As more and more people discover the two games, there will be more writers coming up with adventures. I think there are more 3rd party modules being wr...

Yubacore, You'll do fine. Just let the players have fun. When they finish having fun with one scenario, move to the other. The game really takes care of itself. As far as initiative, I like to make little index card tents with the players names when the players arrive. Ahead of time you can already ...

Re: New Judge for Free RPG Day, need advice
Glad to offer assistance. Remember that there are a couple of key goals in a one-shot store session: (1) Make sure folks have fun (2) Give folks a look at the way the game plays so they can see how this game differs from others they might have played (3) Try to finish the session at an "end&qu...

The shrine is a series of tunnels... Once you enter the labrynth, the airborn spores enter your body and over the course of a few hours, the players suffer effects similar to corruption. Maybe every character rolls on an effect table at the end of every encounter (6 or 7 potential encounters adventu...

Re: Level 1 player more deadly than 0 level play?
We had a similar issue when we started our campaign. At one point, everyone in the party bought the farm except one character, and except for that one player, everyone else has cycled through several 1st level characters up until this point. Once the party all reached 2nd level, though, it seemed l...

Re: How do y'all handle lvl.1 Elf armor?
Joseph Goodman should mandate that every funnel ends with Elven mithral armor for any surviving elves and a dwarven shield for every dwarven warrior (for the shield bash attack) among the big bad's treasure trove.
Let this be the first amendment to the DCC constitution.
