The player in question has no experience with DCC, so I was hoping for a little more rigorous analysis.
But I think we're going to go with the Crawl! version.

Anyone tried the Rangers in play?
I'm porting an ongoing campaign over to DCC. The only roadblock is that our Ranger in system X is very invested in continuing to playing something Ranger-ish (in other words, "change him to a Warrior and play him nature-themed" is not gonna cut it). I've looked at both the Crawl! #6 Ranger...

Re: Why did you buy (or not buy) Attack of the Frawgs?
There's a certain level of silliness/goofiness at which I don't think a product will fly with my group and the title seemed to fall past that line.

Re: Purple Sorcerer Games
Thanks for responding! I hope that things pick up for you.
So far I've picked up Perils of the Sunken City and really like it, and I'm looking forward to your other stuff too. The Crawler's Companion is gonna be great!

Purple Sorcerer Games
Anyone know what's up with these guys? I liked their first module and was eagerly waiting for their Crawler's Companion app to come out, but there haven't been any updates on the blog since October.

Re: Looking for a short 1st-level adventure
Have you looked at Attack of the Frawgs or the Purple Sorcerer modules, Ooze Pits etc? I haven't checked those out yet, but most modules tend to run 2-3 session IME -- I'm looking for something really short because I'm planning to also run Portal under the Stars (plus, we'll be at GenCon, and there...

Yes, please! Can you do it by Wednesday?Ravenheart87 wrote:It seems the time has come to write down the short 1st level mini-adventures I used in my Wilderlands campaigns... A wizard-botanist's tower, a shipwrecked ship, a cult of crabmen.

Looking for a short 1st-level adventure
Heya! I'm hoping to run a couple of short DCC adventures for my buddies at GenCon. Portal Under the Stars seems about the right length for the 0-level adventure... enough time for character creation, rules explanation and a few hours of adventure! But, I'd like to get in some 1st-level play as well,...

Re: Sword Magic
I was confused on this too! OK, so there is only one spell check total to be made through the whole process? The "basic enchantment" section also implies there are multiple checks to be made. Other questions -- I think I get it now but wanted to be sure: 1. Banes -- you declare and pay for...
