Re: Compatible with Dungeon Crawl Classics dice sets KickSta
For what it's worth I'm another previous supporter of a Impact! Kickstarter.
Impact! delivered everything they said and the dice were great. I'll be backing this one too as I have no doubts they will come through.

Re: Just the basics
Having played some DDC with some guys who were primarily Pathfinder players I would make sure to stress to them the difference between the two. If they go in playing DCC like they would with a PF character then a TPK is likely. At least that's been my experience.

Not only are the Purple Duck Games products awesome, but they are a great company. I had pick up 4 of the 5 individual adventures and they sent me The Stars are Falling compilation for no charge.
Thank you Purple Duck Games! That was a nice extra Xmas bonus.

Re: VOID HUNTERS: Seventies Sci-Fi Gaming...
that is an awesome idea. I really like the idea of spellburn equating to owing someone a favor, to be called in at a future date. particulary if you could 'Invoke patron' and 'spell burn' to differnt organizations. I can picture one organization calling in a favor to take someone out while another i...

Re: Need rules for mass combat...using DCC characters
You could try the Domains at War starter edition. It's free on RGPnow. I think it has fantasy mass combat rules that also allow for individual impact by PCs. To be jhonest though I haven't really looked through them myself yet. http://www.rpgnow.com/product/113499/Domains-at-War-Free-Starter-Edition...

I backed the Impact!Miniatures Kickstarter for the spherical d14s and d18s and picked up a complete set of d4 through d20 as well as the d3 (1-3 twice), d22, d24, and d30. So now I have a complete set consisting of d3, d4, d6, d8, d10 (2 dice 0-9, 00-90), d12, d14, d16, d18, d20, d22, d24, and d30. ...

Re: DCC RPG Slipcase edition
Put me in the camp that is interested, but not with another version of the corebook. Some sort of annual or campaign setting would be nice. I already have two copies of the core book, not sure if i can justify buying a third just to get a slipcover. Also, I agree with the idea of it having new art b...

Re: Corruption Alternative
the two sets of tables seem to be split between physical types of corruption (in the DCC book) and mental types of corruption (cjoepar's tables) I'd leave them separate and just roll an extra die...it comes up even, I roll on the physical corruption tables, odd... I roll on the mental corruption tab...

Re: In the Prison of the Squid Sorcerer now available!
I use the .pdf of the rule book on my iPad at the gaming table. I have lots of book marks so it makes looking things up very quick. I'll read pdfs of adventures on the iPad, but for use at the game table I prefer to have a print copy. At the very least a print copy of the map. Makes cross referencin...

Re: How do you define min/max?
Min/maxing occurs when a player calculates all the odds and numerical advantages and disadvantages of a particular weapon. The player's decision isn't based on his imagination, the campaign, role-playing or character development. It is based on game mechanics - what will give the biggest modifier a...

Re: Question about "Withdrawl," page 95
The way Skyscraper just described is pretty much how I've been running our game. As long as the PC isn't running away from combat completely, they can move at will. If they want to turn tail and run, and haven't done anything to prevent the their opponent from doing so (i.e turned over a table to ge...

Re: Question about "Withdrawl," page 95
Keep in mind that the use of a "withdrawal free whack" rule is what effectively kills any chase scene from occurring. The PCs don't run when they should for fear of an ignoble death and the bad guys never manage to escape to plunge down some alleyway with the heroes in hot pursuit. This i...

However, I still like the idea that Luck could somehow play a role in permitting dire defensive capabilities. From a story-telling perspective, it makes sense to me that a character should be able to narrowly dodge an arrow to the knee or an axe to the head by not only being agile, but also by just...

For reading PDFs on your iPad there are a number of free apps. I personally use Goodreader (which is $5) as it allows easy bookmarking, highlighting, etc. Which is nice for RPGs books I'm sure though since you have a Kindle also that you want to be able to sync between the two devices so this probab...

We have a game starting up next week. I've been trying to get the jumble of ideas floating around in my head to gel into some sort of coherant world, but between work and the family haven't had much time to work on it. So instead I've decided to start with a couple of DDC modules (start with Sailors...
