Re: Deed Die rolls
P44: A warrior’s attack modifier is rolled anew, according to the appropriate die, with each attack I think 'each attack' here is intended as 'the set of attacks each round'. Page 42 does a much thorough job of explaining the Might Deeds system, where as this blurb in the table isn't meant to explai...

Re: Do Charm Spells Work on Undead or No?
I would tend to make undead immune to charm spells in most normal circumstances. However, if a particular wizard was leaning towards necromancy ways, perhaps they could quest or make a deal in order to have their charm spell (and why not paralysis and sleep also?) affect the undead.

Re: Regaining Luck
Oh really? I was under the impression that the only changes to the second printing was inclusion of the errata. I'm curious what other clarifications have been made.Raven_Crowking wrote:I now have the revised second printing, and the method I suggested (regaining luck to initial value) is explicit in those rules.

Re: The Ulfheonar's Tomb + Curious Players = End of Campaign
It doesn't mention in the module, but I would have put the crawlspace at the bottom of the wall, otherwise it becomes difficult to escape the room in time as you have demonstrated. Burning luck on the initiative roll is essential in this room. As a GM, I would stress the urgency of leaving that plac...

Re: Spell results: taking lower result possible?
I'm guessing no, since some spells explicitly mention that you can take a lower result. It would seem unusual if it was allowed yet only certain spells pointed this out. This may account for the random/unexpected nature of magic.

Re: Next Batch of Modules
That leads me to ask a question actually would you change anything in the "Punjar: The Tarnished Jewel" free rpg day 2008 book for DCC? I mean it really system neutral so you don't have to worry about stats or any conversions, but just curious if there would be anything from it that you j...

Can I put in a request for the annual please? Would it be possible to include some comprehensive guidelines on converting 'old' material to the DCC RPG please? Re: So GG is not putting out more DCC rulebooks?
Wasn't the purpose (the original one at least) of DCC RPG to support the modules so that Goodman wouldn't have to rely on D&D version X or all the other system wars going on? In that sense, it makes sense that there is a single rule book and that Goodman focuses on the one thing they are passion...

Re: Three Things I Don't Love About DCC
Randomly rolled Read Magic as a spell, then randomly rolled 01 on the mercurial magic table "At great cost. Every time the wizard casts the spell, someone he knows dies (judge’s choice)." That's just... kind of dumb, and a little daunting for a GM because what if the player doesn't care a...

Re: Thieves'/Halflings Luck and (again!) Mighty Deeds of Arm
DCC does provide scenarios where abilities go beyond 18. A good example of this is the Strength spell on page 198 of the rule book - Something to keep in mind. I do think characters should track both the temporary and permanent value of each stat. I would rule luck burning and gaining to be temporar...

Re: Burning LUCK before a roll ??
In the suggestion I provided, if the player burned luck beforehand and they still failed that's a bit of a double-loss for them. It does make burning luck before the roll raise the stakes somewhat. Another suggestion could be: any burned luck beyond what is necessary gets added as restored hit point...

Re: Burning LUCK before a roll ??
I noticed that too when reading the rule book and thought it silly. However, after reading suggestions on encouraging spirit of intent over interpretation of rules I've come to realize that something like this could easily be taken advantage of to enhance some roleplaying aspects: If a player decide...

Re: Wizards and cleric spells (detect magic)
Just a quick question on wizards that have access to cleric spells...how do you handle them? For example, Detect Magic is a cleric spell allowed to be known by wizards...it only fails for a wizard on rolling a 1; per the footnote rules at the bottom of the spell listing table in tiny text it briefl...

Re: Thieves'/Halflings Luck and (again!) Mighty Deeds of Arm
I've also assumed that initial rolled luck is the maximum luck attainable (other than receiving an enchantment that increases the maximum). Turns out that's a good assumption, as it's right there on p.36. :-) Nice catch. With most of these rules its a matter of "I know I've read it somewhere.....

Re: Crawl! New Class Challenge! Brainstorm (and class propos
There are a few classes I've been thinking about that attempt to bring some 1960s/70s vibe. They may not be completely Appendix N related, so inclusion in a campaign may or may not be appropriate. Martial Artist . Based on the kung-fu crazy of the early 70s, this class mirrors the style of Chinese W...
