Re: Fighter Trumps Dwarf Fighter

while i dig your hacking here i must say that in my gameplay dwarfs shield bash has come as very useful. i do not know if we do it by the book but i do allow dwarf to score criticals with it on a roll of natural 14. and that kicks ass. My initial point was not that the shield bash was ineffective, ...

Re: Fighter Trumps Dwarf Fighter

Hmmm, interesting thoughts. My changes are mostly to make dwarfs more like my own vision of them, which is tough, hard to kill, simple. I never thought they were trumped by the Warrior as much as unsatisfying in play. Basically, in my play experience, the shield bash made the dwarf into a two-weapo...

Re: Fighter Trumps Dwarf Fighter

I like simple. I feel your design is a bit complex with the half-level saves for some specific stuff such as mind-affecting effects, poison and disease, at least for what that brings to the table, because it's going to be relatively rare that the dwarf has to save vs. those things, to have specific...

Re: Fighter Trumps Dwarf Fighter

Please critique my revamped Dwarf Dwarf seems to have a rough time when compared to the fighter. Compare: Fighter HPs d12 Better Crit Dice Faster Crit Table advancement Larger Crit Threat range Better selection of weapon proficiencies Level added to Initiative Dwarf d10 HPs Better Saves One handed w...

Re: Fighter Trumps Dwarf Fighter

Yes, I had reservations about adding 'Fighter' after 'Dwarf'. But in my book, dwarves are known for their toughness. Perhaps that d12 swap will be enough

Fighter Trumps Dwarf Fighter

Dwarf seems to have a rough time when compared to the fighter Fighter HPs d12 Better Crit Dice Faster Crit Table accumulation Better selection of weapon proficiency Level added to Initiative Dwarf d10 HPs Better Saves Sword and Board But there's the rub, unless you create a dwarf that uses a sword a...

Re: My DCC Questions

Thanks for this Ravenheart87 The answer is right there on page 30 in the lay hands description. When you lay hands, you heal a number of dice depending on your spell check. You can sacrifice some dice to heal a condition instead of hit points. Eg. if your cleric heals a Warrior and his spell check r...

My DCC Questions

Hi, I've come back to DCC, but it's been a long time so I have a few questions I'd like to consolidate in this one thread. Firstly, I see the pdf has been updated to 2nd print run, but has the hard back been reprinted with the current errata updated? Is there a current errata list for the 2nd print ...

Purchasing DCC

It's out of stock in all my usual online UK shops, and unless the postage is minimal, I really don't want to order overseas

Two questions

1. Is it going to be restocked?
2. Will the restock be the 2nd printing?

Thanks - and rock on!

Map of Aereth

I'm finding it difficult to locate on the pdf maps, the places described in the Aereth books. There's just too many maps all split up like that.

Is there an all in one zoomable map of Aereth?

Thanks

Points of Light 4?

I think I have the Points of Light 4th series, with the Wildland, Southland, Borderland and Swamps of Acheron.

Is there a free download of the maps?

Thanks

Re: Thieves and Shields

I couldn't find any penalties for thieves using shields. Is it a case that they flat out can't? I'm thiking of allowing them to use them in combat, but giving them a -4 penalty to use them in all other thieving skill use situations. As I told it above, everyone can use every kind of shield and armo...
