Re: Magic Items

The Earthdawn method is great. Gives plot hooks and makes players invest in their equipment. My shady memory seems to recall seeing an article in White Dwarf magazine a long time ago for Ad&d about magic weapons... I think it suggested similar things... With a bonus from the weapon that could be...

Re: Have you found it yet?

Well tricky to talk about this without spoiling it by stumbling upon the secret message. I can see letters, numbers and symbols using the ol' upside down mirror tricks. I think I have a word. I have a couple of guesses as to what it might be but so far I am at a loss to see it. I thought for a momen...

Re: Any word on the status of the funky dice sets?

Just spent an hour searching for my old swiss trio, turns out they were in a box of old coins.
First roll... A 16!
They must have been itching to come out to play :D

Re: Any word on the status of the funky dice sets?

From one reverend to another...keep dungeons & dragons weird! I still have 3 black wooden d6s with gold spots from when I took my AD&D books on tour with me when I was about 9 and just discovering roleplaying games. I didn't want to be apart from them...what a nerd :D those books went around...

Re: Any word on the status of the funky dice sets?

To quote Joseph from elsewhere on the forum: "The two Free RPG Day adventures collectively take up 9 pages. Out of 480. Yes, I never quite thought it would be this large! But with so much art, and so many spells, the page count went up quite a bit. That original goal of 96 pages seems quaint no...

Re: Any word on the status of the funky dice sets?

Nice one Thane! I am in the UK too and that's the shop I used as well. Fair postage charges. Great news that the dice issue hasn't put you off. It was a close call for me as well. I think when you look at the value of the DCC rulebook preorder: ... 480 pages, full of amazing artwork and a terrific l...

Re: Any word on the status of the funky dice sets?

Well... It's a tough one. Thane... I am with you on this...it's daft isn't it? I would like a simple set for reasonable cost too. Gamescience are a rip off and really you have to go that route for the dice, especially if you want some sort of matching set and not Dr.Frankenstein's dice pouch (err). ...

Re: History of the OSR

Steve at Troll Lord Games is a great guy. Really helpful and friendly. C&C is a cracking ruleset, I wish that company nothing but good luck. Even though I am set on trying DCC RPG after my current Hellfrost campaign winds up, I am sure I will play that system again someday, it was fun...very muc...

Re: What adventures will be available when core book release

I like having a little adventure in a rulebook. It makes the game more accessible to new players and works as an easy starting point to try a new game. 10-12 pages isn't going to break anyone's back. With all that cool artwork it will be nice to have a couple of very cool maps in there as well to ad...

Re: History of the OSR

Hi Tortog.. DCC RPG looks like it's going to be fantastic and I will be giving it a good run to see how my group get on with it. Looking forward to it landing on my doorstep :D Some very good rulesets floating around at the moment and sometimes it's tough to decide which to go for. Don't think we ca...

Re: History of the OSR

Yes, if you haven't played Castles & Crusades....and want something similar to AD&D but cleaned up and easier to run, play and read then I highly recommend getting the Players Handbook and Monsters & Treasures books....all you need. Had a lot of fun with it. I ran all the Goodman C&C...

Re: What adventures will be available when core book release

Just a suggestion...

Make the download of the free adventure day 0 level starter...er free?

I know it's only a few dollars over at rpgnow and I bought it but at least everyone would have something before the other 0 level stuff becomes available?

Re: Would you buy a full DCC themed 14-dice set? (Unofficial

I vote for DCCRPG jumpers (sweaters) knitted by Joseph and Harley As a side thought....i wonder has Joseph considered to use the kickstarter scheme to fund the production or gathering of an official dice set? I'm not a fan of it as such but if it took the risk element out and allowed an official set...

They are brilliant. He is by far one of the best fantasy artists ever. The art will be the thing that gets my players to try this game....and looking at this they will be begging to play.

Re: Would you buy a full DCC themed 14-dice set? (Unofficial

Yes, one of the reasons i was drawn toward this game was because of the use of 'funky' dice i had never used before. They also allow for some new and creative ways to apply mechanics, i sent Joseph an idea about ways to use the new dice that he liked...so i am in as far as whether they are a good id...

Re: Would you buy a full DCC themed 14-dice set? (Unofficial

Hi Thac0, i just want matching dice. I love what i have seen of the game and i love the idea of loads of funky dice to roll. I am a consumer not a designer so although i sympathise with the difficulty of sourcing the dice to sell...i should think it might be something for the designer to consider wh...

It seems strange not to sell the dice you need for your game. Why not just decide on a colour, then sell three sets...the standard 7, the additional 7 and the full 14 set?

Hi. I'd like a matching set please at a reasonable cost. The idea of having to piece together a crazy Frankenstein set from different manufacturers will i think put people off.
