Re: I want to play a Druid

Spotted one mistake: Bear : When your bear is hit by a melee attack, you can make a saving throw as an immediate interrupt. If you succeed, your bear is unharmed. You can add your Constitution modifier to Intimidate checks made using your bear. Wolf : When your bear is hit by a ranged attack, you ca...

Re: 4e

I have not found any mention of scrolls in the 4e books at all, and only 4 types of potions (all variations on healing). Scrolls can be found in the Rituals section on page 298. A friend told me that whenever it says "STR modifier" it means "STR ability modifier + 1/2 your level"...

I think it might be a fairly common method over here in blighty. We have a similar set up at the FLGS Nigel and I play at. Only difference is that there's no set turn around in terms of numbers of weeks, and as its at the only gaming store in a city of about 3-4 million people (if you include all t...

Good question, has a sort of odd answer. The Phoenix Games Club has been building up it's brand in the past 2-3 years. Our logo is pretty iconic (see the website) and we're looking at expanding that brand. I suppose that B/W clipart is needed for the flyers and stuff, but in terms of the website stu...

Artwork Request ...

The Phoenix Games Club is looking for some fantasy artwork. We're particularly looking for artwork to decorate our website and flyers. Unfortunately the Phoenix Games Club doesn't have much in the way of funds to commission such artwork so if you're prepared to do some artwork for kudos, recognition...

DCC #10 The Sunless Garden (C&C Style)

Well, I ran the first session of my 3-week game "The Sunless Garden" last night. Aside from a couple of whinges from one player playing the Wizard about not having a Divination spell, the group had a blast. (For those of you who are interested, this is a C&C conversion of Goodman Game...

The Boots of Speed incident was nasty. I gave the player a WIS check to spot the Symbol in the darkness, followed by a DEX save to avoid/jump over it. A natural 1 on the DEX save resulted so cue one stunned half-elf in direct line of the trap. Heh. Now I don't feel so bad. I can almost hear all the...

I think that if I get the chance to run it again, I'll make some revisions to my conversion. But yes, I think that the C&C players would must likely play again

Were you able to use the 1E conversion of Iron Crypt, or did you use the 3.5 version and convert to C&C yourself? 3.5 Version but I converted it to C&C myself. I have to confess that I'm not 100% certain that said conversion was correct but what the hey? Harley: The Boots of Speed incident ...

DCC #12.5 The Iron Crypt of the Heretic (C&C Style)

Well, Dragonmeet has been and gone, and I've a preliminary summary of the C&C conversion that I ran ... I had an absolute blast running "The Iron Crypt" using Castles & Crusades, it really is a fun system. I didn't quite achieve the TPK that the scenario promised but there were sev...

Excellent! I've stolen smilies from other forums in the past, but have usually uploaded them onto my own ftp space, rather than steal bandwidth (however tiny) from others. Maybe a mod here can add that one to the list -- plenty of folks on these boards deserve it! Should be do-able. The Club forums...

Are Google Maps actually updated that frequently? Hmm ... having looked at my neighbourhood using it, sadly not. It seems to be somewhere about 4 weeks out of date. And, is it 'are Google Maps', or "is Google Maps'...? It would be "is Google Maps" because we're talking about a specif...

EDIT 2: just thought of something else. Skills. Do I give the 0 level PCs 4x the skill points at 0 level, as under the NPC classes skill progression, and then just give them normal skill points when they hit their hero class. Or do I give them non-first level skill points at 0 level and then give t...
