No, I couldn't stick around long as I had my family in tow. I just stopped in long enough to buy a kodt I was missing and snatch up a copy of the dcc adventure.DCCfan wrote:mshensley did you happen to play in the DCC game? If yes with which group and what did you think?

I've been hearing a lot of good reviews from gamers for Black Death-

I haven't watched it yet myself though. It is in my instant queue.

Re: Free RPG day and my first DCC RPG adventure
I am thankful that the DM came out and had a game for me to play in. It's Florida and it was very hot.( 90+ degrees) He had a tent to help with the sun and was really trying to generate some interest in the game. Most people hadn't heard of it and less were willing to try it. The event was at a pla...

Re: Dice...
My major complaint about the funky dice is that I want convenience most of all (particularly when dropping $20 on a dice set). To me that means: Opaque dice Pre-Inked in a contrasting color (easily visible) No sanding or 'fixing' required to use A complete set of the non-standard shapes in one box ...

Re: the Artwork - keep it Black, White and BOLD!
I agree that for me B&W art is the way to go. I have commented elsewhere that I think there may be a bit too much art in the book. Also for me, I'd really like to see the attempt at humorous cartoons removed. It does nothing for me, other than to turn me off. No way, those cartoons rock! They r...

Re: Mighty Deeds of Arms Question
I haven't tested the game yet, but am about to. However, reading it I have a question about Mighty Deeds: If I understand correctly, a PC must: -successfully hit the target's AC, AND -roll above a 3 on a d20 (usually a d20) to perform a mighty deed. The results for mighty deeds are broken into &quo...

I like it!Talath wrote:This is an un-playtested observation.
So you suffer a -4 penalty to your Initiative roll for using a two-handed weapon.
This game uses oddly-sided Zocchi dice.
Why not roll 1d16 for initiative with a two-handed weapon rather than 1d20? Makes calculating the result that much easier.

Re: Armor
Personally, I'd like to see the power of the armor decreased, and the power of shields increased. I'd like to encourage the players to go with "sword and board" style, even if they have a solid agility. I am surprised that shields didn't get some special rule. Maybe something like if you ...

Secondly...why do halflings get dual wielding? I thoughts hobbits were all about rocks and slings and the like. Is it just a balancing thing? Or has Belkar finally taken over? Yeah, I find that a bit odd too (even though I love Belkar). Going purely by appendix N, they should be good with slings an...

I couldn't find the code for those tests but I did find the code for the similar tests I did here- http://1d8.blogspot.com/2011/03/evolution-of-fighter-in-d-take-2.html Now ignoring crits and deeds (which really shouldn't matter very much against a lone goblin as they almost always die with one hit)...

Re: Post your characters
The Birth Augur might be best left out as it only really makes sense if you have a positive bonus to your Luck. Example: Hawkeye doesn't make sense if I'm shooting at a -1 Luck penalty. Also, I was a bit confused as to when in the process to actually roll on this table. No, the augur should just ha...

Mighty Deed of Arms
The example used in the fighter section on 31 doesn't include the attack die in the damage. Because the attack die came up a 3, the Deed also succeeds. The warrior does 1d8+2 damage with his longsword Shouldn't that damage be 1d8+2(str mod)+3(attack die)? Also, in the paragraph above that it refers ...
