Re: Brave Halfling Publishing: Appendix N Adventures

For those watching from the sidelines (or for Joe Goodman, who should be seriously concerned about having his name even remotely associated with BHP), here are some backer comments from the above update: --- It's almost two years now and I haven't received a single thing. :( --- I never got a first ...

Just got my copy of TA from Lulu. I have the PDF, but wanted to fill out the collection. Book looks great. :)

I've got it, too. Been devouring it between food, football and naps. Really enjoying it - you can definitely see the source material, but it doesn't feel overly derivative. I could definitely run a game with this.

Oh - and yes, KS backer.

I find it, uh, interesting that prominent bloggers, authors and posters have received theirs, and most others haven't.

Coincidence, I'm sure.

Re: VOID HUNTERS: Seventies Sci-Fi Gaming...

I like what I've been reading so far, although for some reason (and I can't put my finger on it), the Synthetic didn't resonate with me.

Would love to see a Diplomat character class (Troy, Inara, Carter Burke) to go in there. And does the SciTech double as the Medic?

Re: Chapter 13 Press Presents: Tales of the Fallen Empire

Sounds like the PDF is supposed to be out next week. Hard to parse exactly: "Ben has informed me that all the text is in and right now we are just putting in the last bits of art and the ads from Goodman Games and the other 3PP. I will be at Carnage on the Mountain this weekend in Vermont, but ...

I've been reading through my copy as well. I very much like.

My wife was just asking me about a monster hunting game set in the Gothic period. Good timing, that. :)

GameOgre - fair enough. RC - Two things: 1) I don't think I said that John was a "crook" (I'm not sure I saw anyone say that, but I haven't read everything on this topic). I did absolutely state that I believe he acted unethically, that is to say he did not "conform to accepted standa...

Re: Brave Halfling Publishing...what gives? Never buy again.

FWIW, most of my crowd funding experiences (50+ on Kickstarter, and 3 on Indie GoGo) have been good experiences. Most have been late. Some have been a year+ late. No biggie. But all of my good experiences have fulfilled their end of the bargain by delivering what they promised, and many have over-de...

Re: Brave Halfling Publishing...what gives? Never buy again.

And that's a nice rant and all, but has nothing to do with the matter at hand. This project isn't Quantum, or Dwimmermount or They Became Flesh (well, maybe the latter). RC - I appreciate your post and your viewpoint. I just have a hard time syncing with the notion that John is doing "everythin...

He showed us a VIDEO of the modules, saying he was packing to ship them TO HIS BACKERS months ago. That was a lie. Those modules were shipped and packed to distributors. How do I know? I saw it IN M...

Well, I've also done a ton of partial patrons, who didn't make it into the book because of space. Paul has a few too. But I imagine that Sean will want to see how the first book is received before committing to a second. I'd totally support it. I'm really enjoying reading through the first one. :)

Re: More spells? Would you support a SpellBook for Kickstart

I would definitely support a book with additional spells, DCC-style. And that means not strict converts from AD&D, d20, etc, but rather spells in the DCC vein - mystical, random, weird and kinda dangerous to cast.

Re: DCC Booger Men!: What'z your best Monster source?

I have the HC of Tome of Horrors for S&W. It sits on the same shelf as my copies of DCC, because that's exactly what I use it for. I consider it the pre-eminent monster book. There are a few other S&W Monster books, but they all pale in comparison, they really do. I also have the 3E Tome of ...

Re: What'z going into your DCC Dm kit?

I sense a bit of hostility over the subject. :) I'm similar to the above poster. Back in my youth, we never used minis - largely because we couldn't afford them. We'd periodically draw stuff out on graph paper and use pennies and such as markers when we needed to track a lot of activity and to avoid...
