Re: And now to quote appendix N:
Ah, that makes sense. Why didn't I think of that? And don't be too hard on the layout guys. It is 470 pp and as near as I can tell they did a magnificent job. I also love the little irony that the DCC RPG appendix n is about, appendix n!

And now to quote appendix N:
On the most excellent Appendix N:Additional reading page 443 says, "And now to quote AppendixN:and then there's whitespace. What was supposed to go there? Or was I supposed to put My favorite appendix n quote?

Re: Books arrived...now I am pissed!
Mine arrived fine ... but the post man knows I have two big dogs, so maybe that had something to do with it  The real problem was that the book was so awesome, I had a mild coronary from overexcitement. But I took my pill and everything is fine now. Btw, I'm not in any way trying to make light...

Re: Have you found it yet?
I don't have the foil cover, (but I really, really, really did want it--maybe soon:) Nor did I know there was a secret mesage. But thanks to the OPs picture, and hint that there was one, it jumped right out at me. So could have voted no before scrolling down and seeing the picture. And what a noble ...

DCC 66.5 Preorder
Does DCC 66.5 come with both preorder, regular cover and gold foil ltd. edition? Or just with the Gold Foil? I really _want_ the gold foil edition, but my gaming budget is on hold right now. I have already preordered the standard cover (which is still awesome btw) and I was just wondering if 66.5 ca...

DCC RPG Default Campaign World
Am I right in assuming that Aereth will be the default campaign setting for DCC RPG? I am still collecting the older DCC modules and am not too familiar with Aereth as a setting beyond the 3x modules I have thus far. So this may be an ignorant question, but I was just wondering if there would be any...

Re: How do I put this? Errr Hurry the heck up!
I have high hopes for 5e. That being said, I'm not sure what to expect from it exactly. I have put in some words here and there on the WoTC forums to try and nudge it in directions I might like--but grew a bit frustrated by the anti-old school rhetoric from some of the zealots there. Yeah, the relea...

On the dice--yes without a doubt, even though I already have my zoccis with my regular sets, a themed 14 set would be awesomeness.

Answers my questions and more. The PC funnel is really to be viewed as a part of pc creation. You haven't finished the creation process until you've been through the funnel.

Re: Quick Question
But what if you don't roll wizard's apprentice and want to be a wizard? Or worse you do roll wizard's apprentice but go with your strength attribute and decide to become a fighter? Has anyone then come up with a way to simulate class related training for 0 level pcs? Say I roll a gravedigger who hap...

Re: Demi-human classes...
I learned a new term today, Fantasy Heartbreaker. Basically means a D&D rip-off, but not necessarily in a bad way. Which, in my opinion, is what DCC is trying NOT to be, but if it keeps tropes like Elves, Dwarves and Halflings it will fall into that trap--whether it wants to or not. Ditching th...

Re: Types of magic in fantasy.
I tend to generally agree with some caveats. Magic in most S&S / Weird Fiction is dangerous. while it's true minor magics are often accomplished with simple ease; real magic, powerful magic, is often dangerous. There are numerous ways to accomplish this, and I think the taint/corruption rules ar...

Re: High PC Mortality in S&S?
Well, I think that the aim should not be to reproduce the dynamics of the literary medium; it's obvious that the main characters cannot die otherwise the writer wouldn't have much to write about. Rather, the game should emulate what happens *around* the heroes, and the way the characters must go to...

Re: Hit points: What are they?
I kind of agree with the general tenor of things here too. HP are a sticky and abstract concept. One can make the case either way. In an effort to quantify the abstract one could say something like HP = to your Stamina to be physical HP, and loss of those last few are actual physical damage. Everyth...

Re: Dave Trampier as Art Inspiration !?!
Wow. I've always considered myself "old school" but I'll tell you what, I have learned so much about old school artists since I jumped into DCC it's humbling. Which tells us two things really, old dogs can learn a thing or two, and DCC is doing a great job preserving and perpetuating the o...

Re: Beta Rules Bleed Out
I had a similar question about this. If you follow the bleed out rule then how you die is fairly clear. I wondered about some type of natural healing, but I actually like that it takes magic to save you at this point. My question is about being "found" on the battlefield. Is this rule desi...

Re: Skeletons and other non-intelligent un-dead: Morale?
On page 79 under Morale it says: "Some creatures are immune to morale checks. Automatons, animated statues, golems, and other mindless creatures do not fear death and thus do nto make morale checks. The same is true of unintelligent undead such as zombies and skeletons." Doesn't this cover...

I like the chart, but that may be because this is a relatively new concept and it clarified the scope of things for me. But I want to play test it and see how it affects my players use of the concept.
