Re: The pre-order shipments have left the printer!

Just got mine in the mail! The pdf is great, but doesn't begin to suggest how amazing this book is when held in your hands. When I look through other versions of D&D type games I always find myself thinking about what I need to house rule to fit the game into my home brew setting. DCC makes me t...

Re: Goodman, please don't publish DDC RPG until after Novemb

I'll concede that typing 'get over it' could be seen as inflammatory, which wasn't my goal. My intent was just to back up Joseph on his reasons for not making public his word document of the changes, not to offend. As for having played the beta, I ran both parts of the free rpg day for a group of fr...

Re: Goodman, please don't publish DDC RPG until after Novemb

As someone who pre-ordered DCC six months ago, I'm pleased that doing it right is the highest priority. As for the closed beta offending people, get over it. All that matters in the end is a quality product. Goodman Games has a pretty impressive track record of producing excellent material. We don't...

There is nothing restrictive about od&d. In fact it is far less restrictive than later versions of d&d. You never needed some skill, feat or class ability to do something. You just did it.

As I understand it, that right there is a pretty accurate take of things DCC RPG is setting up regarding 'thieves' and 'thiefly' abilities...
Good to hear!

Re: Origins of D&D ideas: monsters, classes, spells, etc.

I'm saying nothing new here, but to me a 'thief' is something anyone can be. I prefer my D&D with no thief class allowed. To me the game is more fun when traps are handled with something more than a die roll and being stealthy can be attempted by anyone.

Black & Read is a great store to get lost in. I can't go there without spending at least 3-4 hours scouring the rpg and fantasy book sections.

Re: Welcome New DCC RPG Fans

I started playing D&D in the mid 80s with the Mentzer red box. The rest of my group started with 3.0. A few attempts have been made to get them to play something less rules intensive. We had a campaign using Basic Fantasy which went well, but after 10-11 sessions they wanted to go back to Pathfi...

Re: About Monsters/NPCs...

Keep in mind this is the company that published Raggi's excellent Random Esoteric Creature Generator. Shouldn't be too difficult to use this product with DCC, or even release a DCC version of it.
