You can get the same percentages using the d20/dZocchi system seen in the rest of the DCCRPG. Plus, it will scale with level, instead of being some flat percentage.

Re: the Artwork - keep it Black, White and BOLD!

I love the art I've seen so far in the Beta! I could, however, do with fewer helpless maidens, gasping female sidekicks, and bondage-clad wizardesses, though. You know, more badass, competent PCs like this: http://www.lotfp.com/RPG/uploads/images/SiteGrindhouse.jpg http://www.jonathantweet.com/jotga...

Re: Percentage Thief Skills

This. Make the Thief class unique in another way, not via inflated ability checks alone . I really like the idea of "Misdeeds of Cunning" or whatever you want to call it that was floated above. Granted, I don't mind thieves simply being really good at ability checks, but, yeah, do somethi...

Re: Percentage Thief Skills

It makes a ton of difference in actual play. At least it always has in mine. A thief who wants to sneak past the guards must be both quiet and invisible. And in fact they are _not_ both as easy as the other. And in the case of the rules presentation hide in shadows is easier to do than move silentl...

Re: Percentage Thief Skills

Move silent and hide in shadows are different abilities. Please keep them separate. Stealth is too general. Otherwise we miss the opportunity to have a thief who is hidden, but makes a noise. Or vice versa, one who is silent but seen. In actual play, though, this makes no difference. All that matte...

Re: Demi-human classes...

FWIW, I think it would be a good idea to spell out the original intent, as it's obviously confusing people. Providing a clear baseline is vital for a good rulebook. GMs can always change rules once they understand them as-written. Ergo, my vote would be to clearly state that: 1. If you roll an Elf, ...

Re: Percentage Thief Skills

I had a feeling there'd be a lot of discussion on this topic. :) I want to add my votes for: 1. Ditching % skills for d20/dZocchi+Mods vs. DC. 2. Combining Move SIlent and Hide in Shadows into a single "Stealth" check. Actually, rather than #2, I'm much more in favor of getting rid of &quo...

First off, let me say I love this book so far. I look forward to the rogue/bard book and the cleric/druid book. I'd also be happy to lobby WotC to let you guys do a Power Gamre Guide to the Complete books, if someone will tell me who to bug. :) But... I take it the first row on p.22's Empower/Maximi...
