Re: Word of Command
I'm okay with it, chiefly because it's a cleric spell - no spellburn to semi-regularly launch the spellcheck into the 24+ results. I'd actually allow it to work on undead. If a cleric can use a symbol of their god to turn such creatures, it just doesn't make sense (to me, anyway) that they can ignor...

Re: Combat in the Funnel
Have each player arrange their character sheets so that they're in a line, w/ one clearly in front, another bringing up the rear, and the other(s) in the middle. I'd rule a maximum of 8 zeroes could attack a medium sized adversary, if conditions were right. For larger opponents, allow more as you se...

Re: DCC RPG Player Handbook PDF?
I use it frequently & can't recommend it enough. Many of the rules questions I've seen posted here & on G+ can be answered by a little searching of the PDF.
I can't comment as to how it will look on a Fire but I most commonly access it with my Mini iPad 2 and I have no complaints.

Re: Advancement
You'll find supporters of both options. I believe the book implies that characters should level up mid-adventure upon reaching 10xp, but Joseph Goodman had stated that his intent was that surviving zero levels should level up at the conclusion of the funnel. It can be done either way, it's really a ...

Re: My problem with Mighty Deeds
Personally, I'm at peace with it as is, just like I'm okay with an average zero level gongfarmer's trowel (d4) occasionally doing more damage than a Warrior's two-handed sword. It's not perfect, but it favors quick & simple over slower & more complex, and that's more my preference these days.

Interesting. As far as I know, that's a special playtest doc and not suppossed to be "out there" yet. Has it leaked somehow? Just like Ningauble's Cave at Gary Con, Patrons of Lankhmar was released for NTRPG/Origins. Full Patron treatment* for Death, Issek, Mog, Rat God, Sea King, & S...

Does the pdf on RPGNOW had the supplemental material? I'd sell the digest book and get the pdf if so. The PDF is still the 1st printing and does not yet contain the new material. The best version of Sailors right now is the limited sketch cover version - 2nd print w/ all the new content in its orig...

First paragraphs in the Magic chapter (page 106 DCCRPG core rule book) Magic comes from gods and demons who are capricious and unconcerned with your character’s fly speck of a life. Those who would use magic are best served to always have a backup plan. Summoning magical energies is arduous, expensi...

Re: Looking for d8 dice numbered 1-4 twice
I picked up some 12 siders numbered 1-4 thrice (w/ Roman numerals) at GenCon a few years back, they’ve become my “d4” of choice. Google seems to suggest that they’re readily available from multiple sources, if you're not fully content w/ the 8 siders you ordered.

Even someone with a copy just telling me more about it. I'm not picky. 8) I have it. It's approx 15 pages long, not including cover, full page art, or map. Speaking of the map it's presented as two pages of geomorphs as the Cave is always changing. It's not an adventure, it's more of a supplement f...

Looking over the Monsters presented in the core DCCRPG book, I'd say that the following meet at the very least the baseline of what is considered intelligent: Android Ape-man Brain, Elder Bugbear Centaur Cyclops Deep One Demon Dimensional Sailor Dragon Elemental Extra-dimensional Analogue Gargoyle G...

I don't think there's a cap, it's just that lower level adventures sell better. I think we'll eventually get a 9th/10th level adventure. In fact, I believe the plan with the holiday modules is to do one for each level in order.
