Sounds cool to me. Just be aware (as I'm sure you are) that the more powerful you make the PCs, the less the mooks' CRs will be an accurate reflection of the danger involved.

*laugh* Amen, brother. Is the part time job the stand up work? Well, yes, but my primary part-time job is presenting star shows at the local planetarium. "That's the Big Dipper. That's the Little Dipper. That's the Crusades." etc. How much do the adventures that you write evolve, going fr...

When I ascended to "developer" (read: lead designer or editor-in-chief) of the Warcraft RPG line, I thought, "y'know, maybe I can quit my day job." And I did. Then I got a part-time job. But it's still a move in the right direction!

Writer Q & A -- Luke Johnson

Yo! While ordinarily a thread like this would seem narcissistic, rest assured that I do it only to fit in with my fellow writers. Thus, it is still psychologically unhealthy, just in a different way. I've written some stuff for Goodman Games: DCC #19: The Volcano Caves. DCC #42: Secret of the Stonea...

Hi!

In case any of you will be at Gen Con and want to say hi, you can find my Gen Con schedule here: http://www.lukejohnson.com/gcon07.html

Run into me sometime when I'm not scheduled to be doing anything and I'll be happy to chat about WFF, or whatever else you'd like to talk about.

Spycraft has some interesting non-combat-conflict resolution rules involving cards and maneuvers and stuff. It's worth checking out just for the novelty.

Eh, I don't normally pay much attention to what the magic item compendium says. Giving away all three of those items in such a short adventure might be a little much, but one or two certainly sounds viable.

Hi, Moriarty! So far, no additional rules are in the works; I thought those would be cool for WFF adventures in general. Also, these are *adventures* after all; I didn't want to bog them down with too many rules. But, if there's people out there looking for more ways to JUICE UP THEIR GAMES!! maybe ...

Ha! That's awesome, and I suddenly realize that gestalt characters are *perfect* for WFF adventures!

Off the top of my head, some appropriate lewt might be:

Rogue/fighter: Boots of striding and springing
Paladin/sorcerer: Cloak of Charisma +2
Cleric/fighter: +1 or +2 armor or shield

There was some Lovecraftian influence on Temple of Blood, for sure, but I've never even heard of this "The Festival" story, nor was I aware of its similarity to the new creature template!
