Re: Actions question

If you are asking about the rule for use with minis I think the important thing is that you can't move a little then fire your bow and then move again, because that would mean you could shoot at somebody without ever exposing yourself. That would also be doing three things, not two. I played Star wa...

Re: Time Travel

Are the PCs located on planet earth in a geographical/historical reality? If so, the other suggestions sound good; if not, I'd consider how the world they are on was formed, and/or towards what it might be going; before anything else. E.g. WWII assumes you're on earth, right? Even paleolitic etc......

Re: Time Travel

easy answer is : stone age, then run frozen in time… there is another time travel "gate" they can find in that adventure to go back or on to the next time.

hard answer: everyone loves poland or the ukraine some time when everything is hot and heavy during world war two right?

Re: Alignement Question

We had this discussion a while back on G+ and it was interesting that that conversation started with " law isn't good and chaos isn't evil" and progressed from there. Ah, well that's what I get for not being a G+ guy, I suppose. I miss good stuff and don't even know it. My thoughts on ali...

Re: Frozen in Time as a Funnel

I've played with Mike Curtis as the DM and run it twice myself. Ran Sailors multiple times. I haven't seen a higher body count. I actually found that the climb in the very beginning of the adventure to gain entry into the ghost ice can be the most deadly encounter. As for the actual monsters, the ch...

Re: Alignement Question

I agree alignment can wait until after the funnel, unless there is some mechanical reason why players might need to decide an alignment. Most of the time there isn't. You could do that, but since alignment is more of an attitude I hate to dictate the attitude that the players have to have during pla...

Re: Road Crew New York 2014: The Chaotic Overworld

Nice right up. It's always interesting to see the different experiences people have with Sailors on the Starless Sea. I've run it several times myself, and only once did anyone find the ring. Also, good call on not leveling up during the game. I agree with that. There was a bit of discussion on that ...

Re: GaryCON : possible games Judged by DK

Update: It is very likely that there will be some kind of Sunday morning/afternoon game, though what that is exactly is yet to be determined. It is likely that it will be decided over the coarse of the con. There is also some talk about an all wizards DCC game on Sat. night, though that certainly is...

Re: Death of Ratface and an abbreviated history of "the Band

Thanks Tim. The band carries on into 2014.

I've got some ideas for new iterations of the band going forward , but what is kind of fun about it (not unlike a game of DCC) is there are many things (like content of modules, or page count in books) that push the band around in unpredictable directions.

I have Thursday evening and Saturday post-auction free as well. I will be on the hunt for sure! Check in the open gaming area Thursday evening. I'm guessing I'll be getting something to eat with some goodman folks after they get done running their afternoon games (roughly between 4-6?) an...

Re: GaryCON : possible games Judged by DK

My daughter and I are attending GaryCon this year and one of our goals was to try DCC for the first time. However, registration opened this afternoon and all of the DCC games that fit into our schedule are already full. So - my question is - are there any "unofficial" DCC games taking pla...

Again, I'm glad you enjoy the game and didn't get indigestion from my take on magic.

Thanks for the complements on the art.
One thing we have in common is that I am also a terrible speller. So, if there are any misspellings in your post they certainly didn't stop me from reading it.

Re: Magic missile...

Hum, I'm not sure about the hirearchy; clearly there is a heirarchy in spells I know this tread is about wizard spells specifically , but remember magic ,outside of the PC' classes, is different. So the level thing is really only a very small part of what magic is overall. I think this power imbala...

Re: Magic missile...

Magic doesn't recognize notions of hierarchy, balance or fairness.

You could have a horrible mercurial effect making it not so good, or one making it much better.

Magic missile just might be better because it has "magic" in it's name. Try not to worry about it. Wizards are brave.

AND there should be some freeform DCC on most nights, so keep that in mind when locking down your schedule.

Re: Death of Ratface and an abbreviated history of "the Band

Some questions on the band, because I'm quite a newby: 1) Are they simply pictoral creations, or are som/all of them characters from your games & playtests? 2) If they are real characters were there deaths representitive of actual deaths in playtesting etc. Because the Ratface-slipshot characte...

Advice in summary: *** Resist the urge to change the rules unless you are just adding new random charts or something like this (good for zeros) : http://www.goodman-games.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=87551#p87551 ***zero level adventures should be allowed to die. Again resist the urge to fix what is n...

He is strong enough to have come back from the dead and then have the sense to consider retirement.
The only member of the band to do either so far.

Yeah, room & badge squared away. But looks like your first game there is all full, so save me a space if there's another (especially if you run Stoutfellas!) Check in if you don't have anything else scheduled at that time. Might have dropouts. We can do Stoutfellas if we get a couple more peopl...
