GaryCON : possible games Judged by DK

for folks going to GARYCON::::: If you want to play in a DCC game that I am DMing, during the day say around noon or so let me know. If we have at least three players I'd say it is a go. I'm sure we can find a spot to play in the open gaming area. I'd like to keep the games down to around 5 players ...

Re: Death of Ratface and an abbreviated history of "the Band

"The Jeweler that dealt in Stardust" was In the free rpg day offer in 2012 along with the intro to the mystery map contest. And, it was in the Gen Con Program book in 2013. I think it was also offered as a free download at some point too, I'll see if I can track that down not sure if the l...

Re: Death of Ratface and an abbreviated history of "the Band

Thanks again Daniel. I'm glad someone is paying attention. One thing I think I haven't mentioned explicitly about the band is this: Everyone who appeared in "the band" thus far has first appeared in an illustration in the core rulebook or on the cover of an adventure. This also applies to ...

Re: Death of Ratface and an abbreviated history of "the Band

The dwarf from the 'Characters' chapter start is killed (while adventuring with Shana) in an illustration from The Jeweler that Dealt in Stardus t. But, you are correct a dwarf as never appeared in the band lineup ad with Hugh and Farrah. I will work on getting a dwarf in there. I immediately start ...

Re: Questions about Recovering the body and spell check pena

Unless someone else has a specific page # (Daniel Bishop) here is what I think: Recover the body: Current Luck Armor : all armor ..see equipment chapter under armor Spell checks for elves: This is a good question. I would say as normal (wizard) but perhaps downgrade by a couple slots for mithril arm...

Re: Running Funnels at Cons

I second Joe. Avoid leveling in a funnel. It changes the whole character of an adventure. For running Sailors in one session specifically, just make sure you have an hour or so to do the actual Starless sea forward. It's fairly easy to fast forward through the pool/skull room (with the handouts) and...

Re: Casting unknown spells?

For anyone who might want to know. I came across the actual rule for Divine Aid in the book : its on p.31 of cleric class It invokes at least +10 disapproval … I know how to role role play my character and I would have done it anyway regardless of the rules ,but I guess I accidentally got away with ...

Re: Two Newbie Questions

During my 2E days we used to have a "find the loophole in the rules" house rule to give me a reason why I didn't just kill you. Back in the day there were only a few guys who had the , "by the book" mentality, but it was cool to see everyone chip in sometimes to try to keep a cha...

Re: Two Newbie Questions

1. Probably, but its up to the Judge. I've usually rolled a die d6,d8, d10 ? something like that. If your character is really stupid maybe they forgot. Maybe something like INT minus 1d12? 2.Secret doors are tricky as a Judge because you don't want the players to miss every secret door, but I person...

Re: Casting unknown spells?

I think the intent of the rule is that you can try anything but there will be costs and it won't be easy. Maybe auto corruption with failures? Certainly very high rolls required depending on the situation as called by the GM. If a player tried to use it in a cool way I would give them a chance, but ...

Amazing episode! The only problem I had with it was Jim kept apologising for the art geek speak. We need MOAR of this! Re: DCC World Tour 2014?

There is a 2014 tour. Working on something now.

The question of endings and beginnings is for Joseph though.

My guess is this : 2013 is over……. 2014 starts at Gary Con at the latest….likely anything before then in 2014 counts

Just for the record: Harley Stroh will be responsible for Perils on the Purple planet. If you are asking about the image I think you are, the answer is "No", but there is a piece of an embryonic image for perils in the upper left corner of the pic of the table shot, but not on the easel. I...
