It's for generic DCC games. I can't remember off-hand, but I think they're doing the TotFE-specific tables on a pdf to print out, instead of on the actual screen itself.

Or like MORE SETTINGS?
Or like BOOKS OF PATRONS, ready to use?
Or like REGULAR AWESOME FANZINES COVERING LOADS OF STUFF FROM NEW WEAPONS TO MONSTERS, CLASSES, TO ALTERNATIVE RULES?
Or like EXPANDED RULES STUFF?
And all of it has to go through Joseph's approval too.

Hey Ragboy,
What program are you using to create your character sheet? Any chance I could have a copy of the pre-pdf'd file to hack and prettify it a bit, please?

Re: what to do with problem players
Like Rostranor I'd go for rewarding well-described and imaginative play with on the spot awards too, such as the odd XP bonus, Luck poit, or a +1 bonus to the task being described. Also, if they've never seen em, recommend some high-action movies such as various Hong Kong flicks, swashbuckler movies...

Just waiting to see when a print or POD option becomes available, and if there will be a print + pdf bundle or not.

Re: What is that system neutral town for fantasy rpg?
In Freeport, IIRC, NPCs are listed as low medium or high level, and the DM can decide what that means. It is a great product. Yep, it's Novice, Journeyman, and Master, so characters are described thusly: Quinto Waverley ( Male Human Journeyman ): Quinto is a vicious, scarred brute who blah, blah. c...

Re: What is that system neutral town for fantasy rpg?
The Freeport modules were great, and are obviously set in the same location, but the systemless Pirate's Guide to Freeport is about 250 pages of pure setting, breaking down each area of the city into key locations and their history, key NPCs, and adventure seeds for each location too (there are quit...

Re: What is that system neutral town for fantasy rpg?
Yep, the systemless Freeport book is absolutely bloody brilliant; one of the best purchases I've ever made rpg-wise. It's a meaty tome with a lot of detail and adventure potential, no system rubbish at all, and two great systemless supplements for it too (Cults of Freeport and Buccaneers of Freeport...

Re: Is ddc for me?
Yep, LL is a great game with a lot of great support materials. It's basically a clone of the old Moldvay edition Basic/Expert set rules (plus an optional Advanced Edition Companion volume that adds all the cool stuff in from AD&D-style play, without adding in all the finicky extra rules many of ...

Re: Barrowmaze I & II covenversion to DCC
Both BMI and BMII are great, as are both volumes of Patrick Wetmore's Anomalous Subsurface Environment (especially if you nab a bunch of the cool extra materials posted on the Dungeon of Signs blog). ASE really has the weird and gonzo elements in spades.

Re: GM screen
Joseph apparently really likes the one being sold as part of the Tales of the Fallen Empire Kickstarter. In fact, IIRC from a previous update, they're producing a vanilla DCC screen that can be used with ordinary DCC, and a pdf version that is more tailored to TotFE too.

Re: Familiars... Do the ever grow more powerful?
I wouldn't want it to have too much survivability. There should always be a strong element of the wizard feeling protective about the familiar and fearful of its demise, so giving it hit points that would allow it to shrug off too much wouldn't be desirable anyway. That said, a level 5 familiar (wit...

Re: Aereth reboot for DCC RPG?
The pdfs of the Free RPG Day and standard modules are already available and have been for a while via DTRPG/RPGnow. The pre-order modules, I doubt will be; IIRC, Joseph wants such things to remain special as incentives for folks who actually pre-order stuff. I can understand that but the folks that...

Re: Centaur Character Class
I've seen a centaur character played very well, but yes, it is highly dependent on the environment the adventure is taking place in. They're really only suitable for wilderness adventures in the main as a lot of more constrained environments will massively punish them. I'd say they're good "unu...
