Hero’s Handbook: Tieflings

For any who may not have noticed it, the preview page for Hero's Handbook: Tieflings now includes a free 9-page sample, which includes the intro text to the chapter on Legacies and one full legacy entry (The Legacy of Avarice). In tiefling culture, a legacy is usually what replaces family. It's a co...

Got mine yesterday. :)

I really like the kel race from the PC Pearls article (J. Matthew Kubisz). A deviant offshoot of harpies as a player race? What's not to like about that?

Re: Hero’s Handbook: Eladrin delay?

As one of the lucky authors of Hero's Handbook: Eladrin, I hope you'll find it worth the wait. For reasons both professional and personal, I sure am looking forward to getting a copy of this, Jess. ;) Your writing, and that of your fellow author, really need to be in print as much as possible. Just...

Re: 4E Aereth and Punjar

Is the pantheon going to change much with the 4E version? Too soon to say, but I don't see why it would. The nature of the gods as presented in the 4E Player's Handbook (and the Worlds & Monsters book prior), and the rationale behind the changes, sure sounded a lot like the already existing nat...

Re: 4E Aereth and Punjar

I didn't know the handbooks had Known World details in them.
To be fair, they're not full-blown Áereth books. But they do tie-in. They use Áereth as the default world. Obviously we want the books to be easily adaptable for gamers who wish to use their own worlds or another established setting.

Re: 4E Aereth and Punjar

I have some idea but not completely how to incorporate Dragonborn and Tieflings. It's a safe bet you'll have all your questions answered. ;) Just not that quick. But how dragonborn fit into Áereth is already out, in Hero's Handbook: Dragonborn . As for tieflings, well, you know it's coming at some ...

Re: Goodman Games and 4E

I will agree with much of this; there's a lot of improvements with 4E, but also a lot of losses. That said... Tried to build a cleric that is not a flashy, holy radiance spilling and butt-kicking healing surge provider - but I couldn't. 4E offers you cutouts to choose from. I think 4E offers only cu...

Re: DCC #35: Gazetteer of the Known Realms

frank5471uk , the Northlands, Southlands*, and Lostlands aren't actually universally acknowledged, sovereign regions with specific boundaries. Most boundaries between legitimate kingdoms, baronies, and principalities are constantly contested as is. *For example, the Southlands are just what the Nor...

Re: Aereth and 4E

Jeff LaSala, what part of the Punjar Gazetteer did you write? The Temple District. Not all that much. :) But as I wrote the pantheon sections of the DCC campaign world of Áereth, I'm pretty familiar with the gods and faiths of the Known Realms. Loved the Darkwood Mask by the way. Our usual game for...

Re: Aereth and 4E

Indeed. We made Áereth so that it's easily adaptable. There's a whole spectrum and pantheon of gods to choose from for those who don't want to have to make up their own. And even those gods go by many names, so it's easy to associate any of the 4E gods with any of the Áereth gods, if you're really e...

Re: Aereth and 4E

Warforged in Áereth? Once again my worlds cross and I'm left reeling. :) I could offer up a bunch of different ways to use warforged in the Known Realms, but I'd also be the first to say that what Harley says goes! I never had any desire to play a warforged until now. Warforged are awesome. There's ...

Thanks, frank5471uk ! I'm still really fond of that adventure. :) I love kobolds. Has anyone got any good suggestions for how Tazex might react to this abortive strike into his complex ? In my vision of him, Tazex is all magic-bolstered swagger and pride. He's overconfident. If he knows that "w...

Re: Aereth and 4E

Absolutely. I think it would be a good idea if we harnessed the same advanced technology used to create the microphone for Snake Mountain. Orcs? I'm thinking demons. How is such a microphone NOT like the best DM tool ever?
