Re: Placing Castle Whiterock in the Wilderlands

Not aware of anyone at present using DCCs in the Wilderlands setting ... then again ... there is still an ample supply of old Judges Guild fodder from way back when that has never made it back around into publication during the last attempt to jump start things. Might be a good question to ask on th...

Re: Supporting multiple systems within the DCC's

I did like the suggestion of a DCC RPG. Considering the setting is already in place it might not be a bad idea ... tho' admittedly you would most likely face stiff competition in this arena from Pathfinder, True20, etc. unless you truly have something unique to offer. Perhaps there is a happy mediu...

Re: Supporting multiple systems within the DCC's

Diversification of the product line is always a good idea; however, I am not certain that adhering to a 4E base design with downloadable stats for previous versions would necessarily work as an all around solution for the majority of the potential customer base. In part due to the potential amount o...

Using older real world texts ...

When inspiration is needed ... I have been turning to Google Books lately for some real world references and thought the following might be useful ... Re: DCC#53: Sellswords Of Punjar

I ordered this module today from my local game store A to Z Comics.

Hmmm ... now there's a place I haven't been to in many a year. Then again, with my odd work schedule and high gas prices I don't get out to Blue Springs very often anymore.

I won't be buying 4e anything. DCC # 52 will be my last . . . <sigh>

Most likely true in my case with the possible exception of any additional 1e modules that Goodman might release in the future. That way I can go back and look for the few DCC modules I missed the first time around.

Normally purchase items in print form only unless a particular item will be available in electronic form only. So far that has pretty much been limited to Tome of Horrors:Revised since Necro didn't feel like putting out a 3.5e version in print.

Something like that ... just finished ordering my copies. Now all we have to do is wait to see if/when there will be some more 1e goodness from Goodman. :D

It will be available at the online store in a couple weeks.

Okay ... so it's been a couple of weeks since GenCon. Now when exactly will it be available at the online store ...

So if you have the choice, please patronize your local retailer on Free RPG Day. Normally I would ... but ... considering the lack of participation by the major game stores in my area ... guess I won't be. Of course considering Free Game Day happens to conflict with regularly scheduled Warhammer at...

And yet he goes on to say nothing about the prostitute encounter table in the back of the DMG. Some of the early fluffy bits such as tables like this were rumored to have been donated by Bob Bledsaw (Judges Guild) or so some of the stories go. A good example of some odd encounter tables would be th...

Re: Favorite Setting

My favorite is the Old (and recently revived) Judges Guild setting the Wilderlands, especially when connected with Dave Arneson's Blackmoor setting as it was in the First Fantasy Camapign. There are so many possibilities in the combined setting, low magic sword and sorcery, high magic, science fant...

As the author of DCC#36, I guess I'll just have to respectfully disagree with you on that one. Yes, I can see how you might think the module has a certain amount of "cheese factor" based on the sci-fi element contained in the adventure, but I think if you played it, you'd find it to have a lot of g...

GorillaCon 4 in March? It is held in Pittsburg, KS by the local gaming group there. I'm planning on going back again this year, and will be running nothing but 1E AD&D at my table. Now is that regular 1e or OSRIC? Tho' the scary part is a con being held in the land of Purple Gorillas and Big Brutus...

Weresteve, how would you define "cheese" and "non-cheese," in this case? Umm ... lemme see ... cheese factor would cover most if not all of DCC #33, 34, #36, #37, and #38. I might get #39, but haven't decided about anything beyond that as of yet. Besides ... I have been collecting/playing Judges Gu...

They can if they want ... but ... with the cheese factor of some of the more recent releases, I will most likely be dropping off after #35 and switching over to the new Judges Guild releases when they come out.
