Re: Collecting DCCs

Ha ha! Well, I wasn't entirely sure that posting links to Ebay listings were allowed. :-) I'm going through my gaming shelves and selling several gaming items over the course of the next month or so. Just looking to cover some medical expenses (oh, the joys of healthcare!). DCC #12.5: Iron Crypt of ...

Re: Collecting DCCs

I went ahead and listed a few of my DCCs, along with the Iron Crypt of the Heretics Gen Con version on ebay, so we'll see what price it fetches. There don't seem to be any sales of it on ebay, and the only one listed is for $600. I couldn't part with any of my tournament modules, though. Tho...

Collecting DCCs

Does anyone know of a good place for pricing old DCCs? For example, I have a couple copies of the 1E GenCon version of the Iron Crypt of the Heretics.

I'm familiar with www.acaeum.com, but don't know if there is something similar for DCC modules?

The Black Heart of Thakulon the Undying

I was curious if you had any plans to print the module from last year's tournament? :)

Re: GenCon Playtest

We might be willing to do a session on Saturday. The Blood Kings and company (our group hit 9 this year) are down for Gen Con. Our schedule is pretty full right now, but I think we have time on Saturday morning/afternoon. We are mostly out for the night as we are all in a Shadowrun Tourney. If you ...

Re: GenCon Playtest

Sounds good to me. We're in the same boat (no tickets yet, and we're looking at attending Saturday). Basically, this will be the only game we'll probably get in (the rest will probably be exhibit hall and board game demos).

We can bring 3-4 players to the table.

GenCon Playtest

I have a few players interested in a DCC RPG playtest, and was wondering if anyone was planning to run a playtest at Gencon.

Re: Upcoming playtests of DCC RPG

Hey folks. I'm looking to spend a day at GenCon this year (Saturday, to be specific), and was wondering if any playtests were going on?

Re: Upcoming playtests of DCC RPG

Clan Yeoman is also in Kentucky (near Cincinnati). Joseph, my birthday is November 8th, so in lieu of a birthday gift, I'd accept an opportunity to playtest... You guys the team that has won the Gen Con Crawl in the past? Yeah, that's us. We've played in the DCC tourney every year (with the excepti...

Re: Year Seven Tournament Preview

I'm surprised this hasn't received more responses. Ever since you folks started the DCC tournament, it's been the highlight of GenCon for us (and we've been attending for the past 16 years straight...last year was the 1st we've missed since I was 18 years old). Since half of our group would be out a...

Re: Year Seven Tournament Preview

Honestly, I've always been pleased with tournament decisions that the Goodman crew has made...so I don't want to sound like I'm voicing dissent...just saying that I'll miss the "tournament prep" that went along with character selection. Speaking of characters and choices; way back in year ...

Re: Year Seven Tournament Preview

- Set party. I love the "choose-a-team" design, but it can lead to teams getting hosed because they didn't take THE ONE CHARACTER that was perfect for the encounter. While we balance that out over the course of the entire module, next year we'll do something new. Every team will be compos...

Re: DCC Tournament 2009

I haven't posted for awhile (been a little busy), but I've enjoyed reading all of the posts and seeing some of the photos from actual play. It's been great reading all of the stories.

So...let's ask this - What were your favorite encounters, and most memorable tournament moments?

Re: DCC Tournament 2009

Yes..."easily" is the operative word here. I was wondering if any of the 3rd round groups would have a PC fall down the stairwell... That was one of the things our group talked about a lot while we waited for the results. There were key points in the adventure where smart play avoided tim...

Re: DCC Tournament 2009

A little further down we encountered a couple of odd, demonic firefly swarms. These guys were not too bad to fight, but they had a slide 1 attack that could easily have dumped an unwary party member off the edge of the staircase down to the bottom of the shaft. Yes..."easily" is the opera...

Re: DCC Tournament 2009

Overall . . . we had a blast, and Adrian is a rock star DM. He brings stuff to life incredibly well -- especially managing to do it in a way that didn't slow the game down. I think I'd wait in line to play anything he was dming, even if it were Barbie Playhouse D20. You're in luck - rumor has it th...

Re: DCC Tournament 2009

But, because we've learned through careful study that the Goodman adventures are an exercise in rat bastardy, I decided to use Song of Discord to dominate the tar beast and use it to attack the first telescope. Once we saw that the telescopes were the way to go -- and that the tar beast wasn't hurt...

Re: DCC Tournament 2009

Great people, a great adventure, and great, great gaming. You've pretty much hit on everything that makes this a "must do" event for us at GenCon every year. They've never disappointed. Incidentally, since it was being discussed, our warlock managed to land a sustainable power on the mant...

Congrats to all of the teams that made it to the finals....and congrats to Don't Make This Weird - for a new team (well, new to the DCC tourney, anyway) to push their way to the top is no small feat. Don't Make This Weird - thanks for the recaps. I'd love to hear more (about later rounds) as well......
